Story
Kosmo knows basic commands: sit, lay down, shake, speak, circle, and stay... stay when he wants anyways. I took him him to keep him from being brought to a pound. However owners lied about his breed. He is very active and needs lots of room to run. He would love to hunt. I cannot keep him because he gets out of our yard and goes into our neighbors that has free range chicken and ducks. He is a high jumper. House trained and great with other dogs. I can pay for him to be neutered.

Story
Otter is a 5.5 year old female Treeing Walker Coonhound that is as sweet as they come. She previously lived with a young child and another dog. She does NOT do well with free-range chickens. Otter is extremely timid and submissive, so she will need an owner that is very patient. She does warm up to people easily, but it takes her longer to feel confident in a new environment, which includes leash walks. Otter was living in a foster home where she was well-loved and was making great progress on house-training. She did start to show some possessive tendencies toward her foster, so we recommend reading up on that and we have some behavioral literature we can provide too. Otter needs an adopter committed to helping her overcome her challenges, but they will be rewarded with an incredibly loyal, loving girl. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary. Complete an adoption application at ITVrescue.org if you would like to meet Otter! Please realize that many of our animals are kept in foster homes. Please complete an adoption application at http://itvrescue.org/adoption-application/ in order to meet with one of our animals. There is no obligation in completing the application, but it helps us find an animal that is most appropriate for your family. The ITV Rescue Center is open Tuesdays 12-5; Wednesdays 12-7; Thursdays 12-5; Fridays 12-5 and Saturdays 10-5. The Rescue Center is located at 1417 N. Stockwell Road. You are welcome to come to our rescue center during open hours to see all of our great adoptable animals. Thank you for your interest in our animals! NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Story
Hey there, I'm Rex, a friendly and affectionate pup on the lookout for my forever home where I can be showered with love and affection. When I first arrived, I must admit, I was a little nervous - new places and faces can be a bit intimidating, you know? But fear not, because with a little time and patience, I quickly settled in and showed everyone what a good boy I can be. One thing you should know about me is that I'm great with kids and cats. Yup, you heard that right - I'm a real family guy! There's nothing I love more than spending time with my human friends, whether it's playing fetch in the backyard or cuddling up on the couch for some quality snuggle time. And when it comes to cats, well, let's just say I'm a pro at making furry friends! So, what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a sweet and loving pup like me into your heart and home? I promise to be the best companion you could ever ask for, bringing joy, laughter, and endless tail wags into your life every single day. Let's make some memories together - I can't wait to meet you!

Story
Adeline is a 1.5 year old beagle that has special needs. She was surrendered to us when she developed hind end paralysis. The vet does not believe Addy, as we call her, will recover fully from this, though she has shown some improved ability to stand infrequently since she came to us. Addy can defecate on her own, but needs her bladder expressed multiple times a day. We have a wheelchair for Addy that she enjoys using. With room to run, she can really move! Addy’s other challenge is that due to a painful skin issue, she developed some biting behaviors. We’re hopeful with her feeling better that these behaviors will go away, but we don’t feel comfortable sending her to a hime with children. Addy bonds hard with her people and will scoot around to reach them and do those excited beagle bays! She does well with other dogs and we believe she would do well with cats too. Adeline’s ideal home would be with someone who is retired or works from home; once you get a routine established, her care is really not that time consuming. Addy is also available for fostering if you would like to see if she’s a good fit for your household.
