Story
Annie the treeing walker coonhound needs someone special to give her a foster home or forever home, she has been waiting so long.  This 7-8 year old girl weighs about 75 pounds and has spent the last 8 months in a crate at a vet’s office In East Tennessee.  Her owner dropped her off and never returned to get her.  The staff didn’t know what To do about it since the local shelter was not a good alternative and so for 8 loooonnnnngggg months this Girl has laid in her kennel/crate and wondered how her life ever got to be like this.  No exercise and just a Smidgen of love daily from the staff.  But this is NO LIFE!  Can someone help change this girl’s Story to something happy.  She will love you forever if you do and so will Critter Cavalry Rescue.  We will provide anything needed for a foster home to open up.  A forever home would be even better but we will just hope for one step at a time.  Can you help sweet Annie???   Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com We transport northward as well every weekend. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Story
Emmaline is a gorgeous pure bred Tree Walking Coonhound that is looking for a wonderful home and family who love the Hound characteristics and gentle ways. This girl is about 2 years old and weighs 50 pounds. She was found at a construction site yard with her 6 puppies that were about 6 weeks old and lucky to be alive. This girl is housetrained and loves to sit and cuddle with you on the sofa. She is fabulous with other dogs and cats as well.   Nothing wrong with this girl except that She doesn’t have a home and family yet.  She is in foster care but the foster mom has to give her up very soon and we are in search of a new foster or a forever home ASAP.   The current foster mom says Emmaline  makes her laugh every day with her delightful personality and her loving ways.   If you are looking for a wonderful medium sized dog to love then Emmaline is the one for you.  She will need a fenced yard because a Hound needs some room to stretch their legs and get that exercise worked off.

Story
Scout has been a loved and cherished member of our family since we rescued him in 2016. He is a 5-6 year old, 100% treeing walker coonhound who is always up for an adventure. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, house trained, and graduated private doggy obedience lessons - meaning he is great on a leash and knows commands like heel, sit, stay, gentle, on the "place" (e.g. couch, mat, crate), and paw. His first love in life is food, but a close second is snuggling on the couch under the blankets. He also enjoys going for walks, hikes, and runs. Scout is energetic, laid back, and loving. Scout's ideal new home will not have any small children or other pets in it, but it can include visiting dogs and trips to the dog park. Scout has become protective and aggressive since we had a baby, which has led to our heartbreaking decision to rehome him. Scout's next family should be experienced dog owners, willing to work with him on potential aggression while also providing him with ample love.

Story
Skyla started fostering with us in early December of 2019. She is a spayed Treeing Walker Coonhound currently weighing 40 pounds and she is about 2 and a half years old. Skyla is very sweet and loving with all of the people she has met. She likes to jump up and lean on you and get lots of pets. She can be a bit anxious at times, but she has learned to calm down more the longer she has been here. She has a playful side and she loves to chase a tennis ball around and plays a good game of fetch. She does well at keeping herself busy by chewing on a toy or taking a nap when there aren’t people around for her to hang out with. So far, she does pretty well on her walks. Like a typical hound, she likes to take in all the smells and get lots of exploring done. I’m sure that she would love to have a big, securely fenced backyard where she could run free and do lots of exploring and smelling. She does like to pull a bit when seeing other dogs or people while walking, but a bit of work with her and this could be fixed pretty quick. At the moment Skyla is not currently potty trained in her kennel, but it is something we are working on. In a home environment on a regular schedule, we think she could learn pretty quickly when is the appropriate time to go to the bathroom. Her interactions with other dogs so far have been hit or miss as she is not fully integrated into daycare at the moment. However, we are working with her around other dogs to help her. If you’re considering Skyla as a 2nd+ dog a meet and greet with your current dog(s) would be best to see how they get along.
