Story
We adopted Luna last winter from St. Louis County Animal Control. She had come in as a stray, so her history before is really unknown. We chose her because she was so friendly and sweet with everyone. She had about a month of daily professional training at Kennelwood, and her obedience is very good for a pet. She walks nicely on leash. She is friendly with children, cats, and other dogs. With small children and our 18 year old cat, she can sometimes be a little too friendly and rambunctious for them. While it breaks my heart, the reason we need to rehome her is that our schedule and environment just don't allow us to provide Luna the activity level she needs. She's an athletic dog who loves to run. I've taken her on runs of up to 4 miles and she loves it, but with 3 kids and a busy schedule, I just don't have time to do this every day. Walking a mile or two twice per day is just not enough for her. She would do great in a home with other dog friends where she could run and play.

Oscar was found out of state during our travels, he's a gentle soul and loves to relax as well as go on long walks. If given the opportunity, Oscar will sleep the day away, he's a very low key kind of guy. However, Oscar needs more than we can provide, with us living full time in an RV, he has a desire to run and play and desperately needs a yard which we can't provide in an RV park. Oscar is amazing with children, other dogs and pet birds (unknown about cats) Oscar is a curious little guy and loves exploring. He is well behaved in our tiny home, however he cannot be trusted alone and needs to be crated when we are not home as he likes to roam the house and see if he can find any hidden food (he is not food aggressive) When we found him we took him to get fully vetted, managed to put some much needed weight on him and has been groomed as well. He is not neutered. We are looking for a family friendly home, preferably with another dog, with a yard for this sweet rescue.

Hello, my name is Raf, I'm a 7 year old Beagle mix that enjoys walks and running around my fenced backyard. The beginning of my life was a bit rough and sad but it’s nothing but up from here. I’m the best squirrel hunter you could ask for; I will help you keep all those pesky critters out of your yard. I am house and crate trained and enjoy going for long walks. I'm currently a little too thick at 50 pounds, but my foster mom is helping me get back to my proper weight of 30. I enjoy playing in the water at the lake and going for long walks so please continue my exercise program to help with my weight loss. I do okay with other k-9 siblings but I prefer to have a quite home to live out my golden years. I enjoy comfy couches and fluffy dog beds, anywhere my people are I want to be near. If you’re looking for senior that has lots of love to offer than come up and see just how adorable I am. Raf is neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, microchipped, heart worm negative on a monthly heart worm preventative, on a flea/tick preventative, had a dental, and a fecal. Raf’s adoption fee is $250.00. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport, WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. Hi my name is Rif, I'm a 7 year old Beagle mix weighing in at a whopping 50 lbs, but my foster dad has me on a diet to get me back into shape, I should be closer to 30. I'm a bit of an old soul, just look at my eyes. I had bumpy begging with highs and lows in my life but I'm not looking back now. I am house and crate trained; I enjoy walks and could definitely use more of those right now. I will require a fenced yard, as I like to be outside and chase squirrels ,birds, rabbits and anything that isn't supposed to be in my yard. I would really enjoy a home that is quite and not a lot of other k-9 siblings. I do well with other dogs and I don't mind cats but I will chase if they bother me. My ideal home would be fenced yard, older kids and no more than 2 dogs, I really like all the attention. I do okay in car rides but sometimes I drool a little bit. I like to sleep with my foster daddy and sit in the chair with him, but if I have to I'll lay on a dog bed or the couch, whichever is comfy. I eat on a schedule and prefer to eat by myself; I don't want anyone getting my food. If you're looking for an active and wise pup to shower with affection through his golden years then come see me!
