Story
Cassadaga, NY: Willow is a tree walker coonhound that has had the worst luck in life so far. She was rescued from a known area in North Carolina for dog dumping. She was literally covered in ticks and had them so far down her ears they had to be removed under sedation. Both her ear drums were ruptured. She was heart worm positive and also tested positive for ehrlichiosis. We had her vetted and treated for heart worm and finally she was adopted. When her former owners had marital trouble they returned Willow and the other dogs they had adopted. (These "wonderful" folks later decided to get back together and instead of taking back the dogs they committed to, they went out and bought a puppy from a breeder👿). Then, Willow was adopted by another person several states away that gave up less than 2 weeks later when things were more work than I guess they were willing to put in...Willow is the most laid back dog ever. If you are a mature adult who understands dog ownership is a lifetime commitment (not just when convenient) have experience with dogs, can follow simple, common sense advice, she will be a wonderful companion. Because of her ehrlichiosis, she has times she isn't feeling 100%. Children do not always understand this (even dog savvy children) so for this reason I will *ONLY* consider applicants in ADULT ONLY homes for Willow. She is dog friendly and does best with super friendly low key male dogs. She is house trained and crate trained and very relaxed. She enjoys peace and quiet & napping.
