Meet Marshall! He was pulled by a local dog shelter when they became dangerously full. Although Marshall is an older guy he still has A LOT of energy. Marshall is a Treeing Walker Coonhound that is on the large size at 80 pounds. He will require a fenced yard when outdoors as he will follow his nose. Marshall also needs some leash manners training as he is a very strong boy. He loves people and attention and does not mind other dogs. Because of his hound tendencies we do recommend a home without cats. He can have a bit of a loud bark when he is excited but he is not a continual barker here at the shelter. He is such a sweet and handsome hound, stop in and meet him today!Marshall's adoption fee is $35 thanks to the Dobec family. This includes: Bordetella Vaccine, DHPP Vaccine, Microchip, Flea Treatment, Dewormer & Spay/Neuter Surgery. As well as age appropriate Heartworm Testing & Rabies Vaccine. We also just got him a dental done!!

Welcome Della to rescue! Della is a 4 year old Female Treeing Walker Coonhound. Currently she is decompressing in her foster home but so far is the perfect house guest! Della will need an active family who is dedicated to keeping her working nature satisfied. Treeing Walker Coonhounds are loving, intelligent, confident, and enjoy interacting with humans. They make good companion dogs for an owner who understands the characteristics of the breed and is willing to work with their in-bred nature as a hunting dog. On the scent, they are tireless, alert, and intense. At home they are mellow, sensitive lovers of comfort. Treeing Walker Coonhounds get along well with other dogs and with children. Like most hounds, they are even-tempered and difficult to annoy or drive into aggression towards people or fellow dogs. With training they will coexist with small animals such as cats, despite their nature as a small-game hunter Della will need a secure physical fenced yard to keep her safe while scenting. She is as sweet as can be and needs a loyal family to love her as much as she will love them. Della's adoption fee is $300.00 which includes her spay, current on vaccines including Rabies, de-wormed, tested negative for Heart worm and current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention. Story
Meet Norman! Norman is a big, strong guy, full fledged coonhound around 50 pounds and is estimated to be about 3-4 years old. Norman needs the help- he was adopted to a family in the city and he is not adjusting well. He's a country guy at heart, he prefers the open spaces to a living room couch. Since coming to the city Norman has done his best to adapt but he's not happy and is struggling with depression and high anxiety which has caused him to act out at times. Norman can truly be a great dog in the right environment- he seeks reassurance, patience and lots of loving pets and most of all a very relaxed place without a lot of people coming and going. He's devoted, a great companion, loves long walks and the outdoors. He also loves to nap! Norm is FULLY vetted-- Rabies vaccinated and had his heart worm checked- all good! He is current on meds for fleas, ticks, and heart worm. He brings with him toys, his collar and leash, and dog bowl.
