Lucky here! I was hit by a car and left for dead on the side of the road. A nice lady found and took me to the closest vet where they contemplated euthanasia. You see, my spine was fractured leaving me paralyzed from the waist down. Thankfully, this rescue gave me a second chance. I am happy to be alive and am perfectly capable of living a good quality life. I just need to find a family who is perfectly cable of caring for my special needs :) I am guessed to be a 4-5-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound. I love the company of other dogs and can’t wait until I get my cart so I can run and play! I also enjoy getting pet by everyone I meet. If you don’t come to me, I’m scootin’ my way to you. My bladder needs expressed every 6 hours, and I cannot control my bowels.

She is even tempered and affectionate. Caroline is housebroken and pulls a little on the leash on walks. She is playful and needs a fenced yard in her forever home. Caroline also loves hanging out with her family watching TV. She gets along with other dogs but no cats. Our adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 3 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted. CHIP, and his brother Dale, were rescued from a hoarding situation where there were over SIXTY dogs in the house! CHIP is a year old, 30 pound Beagle mix (our best guess). Although he came to us frightened and scared, he is making great progress in his foster home. Initially, he would urinate whenever his foster tried to touch him but is now seeking a scratch on the head and is willingly taking treats from her hand. While Chip follows his foster mom around the house, he won't approach her unless she's sitting on the couch. With some time, love and patience, Chip will ultimately become a great lap dog! Even though he's scared, Chip has never offered to bite and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He prefers to bark then run and hide. Chip is crate trained but as most dogs expects a treat after being a good boy and going into his crate when told. This little guy is looking for a permanent home that will be patient with him as he continues to come out of his shell. HART does have a professional trainer who is willing to work with our adopters and provide advise, if needed. Chip thoroughly enjoys playing with other dogs and is much cuter than his pictures portray! Meet Inga, called Babs by her foster mom! She is a fun loving girl guessed to be around 4 to 5 years old. She came to us as a stray with cherry eyes and a bad flea allergy. She's had surgery on her eyes and her skin has cleared up, so she's now looking for her new family. One of the first endearing qualities I noticed about Babs is that she loves to snuggle and give kisses. She would snuggle with her family all day if she could. She will need a family who has time to include her in their life. She wants to be loved and cuddled and to be included in the family's adventures. She tries to play with the two resident grumpy dogs but unfortunately they want nothing to do with her. She is enrolled in Daycare and is meeting new dog friends and running off energy while her foster mom is at work. She gets along with all of the dogs at her daycare. Babs is house trained and doesn't chew anything not given to her. Like most hounds she loves to eat! She is extremely food motivated which is great for training. We are currently working on "watch me" while on a walk. Babs has not had experience with leash walking and she takes off with her nose to the ground like she's on a hunt. Her family should be willing to work with her leash manners. She can also be nervous of men approaching her while she's on a leash. She loves her foster dad, it just seems to be men that approach her while she is leashed. She will bay at them and back up. Due to how excited Inga becomes on walks, she definitely needs a fenced yard! She small but mighty and is likely to pull anyone her walks her down the street! Babs is fairly quiet for a Basset Hound. She bays for the fun of it, but thankfully only when she's outside. While in the house she makes less noise than the two resident dogs.
