Story
Ladybird is a very sweet girl, but she is in desperate need of training. We rescued her when she was a puppy living in a dire situation and nursed her back to health. However, then my daughter had a baby - earlier than expected - and now we do not have the time to spend training her. She is only partially housetrained and howls a lot. However she is a good dog and thrives on positive attention. She does appear to be a slow learner and may need extra time and patience though. She has lived with another med/large dog and also a newborn and does well. She has not been around cats. She is energetic and needs outdoor space.

Story
This sweet girl is Sophia. She is a 7 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who weighs 50 lbs. Small children scare her and she reacts, so a home with no children under 12. If younger visitors come over, she should just be crated or put in another room. Men do still frighten her at times, but she is in a foster home with men and is fine with them. She just needs time to warm up to them but would still do best in a home with at least one female for her to adjust. The biggest issue we have with Sophie (and some may not call it an issue at all) is that she is territorial of her home. She does not tolerate strangers (to her) entering the house when she is alone. When her foster mom is there, she is fine with it, as long as foster mom is okay with it. Outside the home, she is a different dog. She is friendly and can be approached and petted by anyone. Sophia has attended outreaches on her own and has no issue with people walking or petting her. We even had her nails trimmed with a groomer, and no issue whatsoever! She is a very loyal and affectionate dog to the right person! She is house-trained and great on a leash. She can be left uncrated in the house all day with no issues. She is fine with other dogs. Sophia is spayed, vaccinated, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $175. If you are interested in adopting Sophie, please contact Michelle at michelle@foreveryoursokc.org.

Story
We adopted Gabe a few weeks ago, but my landlord will not allow him because of his size and unfortunately I have to start traveling more with my job. He’s a very sweet dog, hyper at first, but calms down. House broken, good with kids and my small dog, but we were told he does not like cats. I am needing to rehome him as soon as possible and don’t want to have to return him to the shelter. He is a Tennessee tree brindle mix what we were told and the vet said he is about 5 years old according to his teeth, but the shelter told us 2 1/2. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Story
Pops was taken into a local shelter as a stray along with a female dog that seemed to be his companion. We think he resembles a Treeing Walker Coonhound but we really do not know what his mix is other than a hound dog. He and his companion appeared to act like house dogs so we are listing him as housetrained, however, we do not have him in a home where this can be evaluated. We think he is around 8 years old so middle aged but not quite a senior yet. Very sweet disposition. He seems to like other dogs but he will crawl onto their backs to play etc so needs to be a dog that is close to the same size as him and easy going. He has been neutered, dewormed, and vacs. Apply to adopt at www.pbroklahoma.com. His adoption donation is $150.
