Raisin, also quite lovely, is a female Retriever mix of 6 months and 40 pounds. When mature, she’ll be smaller than Royal. Both dogs have wonderful temperaments and love people and other dogs.   They’re wonderful together!  (posted 4/2/20, ME)   **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $325 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, food, medical records, spaying/neutering,microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed : $140.00 We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip from Alabama. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.

Story
This is the story of Mack. Mack was born on 9/12/13 as part of a litter of 6. His Mom was a Vizsla/Hound mix and we have no idea who Dad was. He was the largest pup of the litter at birth. As the litter grew and was nursing on Mom, we quickly learned that she was giardia positive (an intestinal parasite). It was an unfortunate circumstance since we were certain she was passing it on to the pups. Since they were so young when they started showing signs of suffering from this parasite, there wasn’t much we could do other than wait for them to get to an age when we could treat it. One by one, they fell ill and then re-cooperated once treatment started. Mack on the other hand, did not seem to bounce back like the others. In fact, he fell ill with this parasite more than once in his puppyhood. We treated him each time and suffered with him during his periods of dehydration, not eating, and just feeling yucky. More than once, we had to force feed him for more than a week. He had no energy. We were giving him fluids three times a day just to keep him alive. There was a point where we did not think he would make it for certain. But we weren’t giving up on him. I think he knew that, and this caused him to hang in there with us no matter how bad he felt. At 10wks, he weighed only 4.8lbs when his siblings were in the 10-12lb range. Because the parasite took every bit of nutrition we were force feeding him, he was way behind in growth & development. When he finally turned the corner and started eating on his own, he was unstoppable. He would eat every 2 hrs and simply couldn’t get enough. We were elated! At 15wks, he was only about 2/3rds the size of his siblings, but he’d eat like a horse and we’d pump him up with vitamins every day. As you can see from his pictures, he is certainly 1 happy pup to be alive! UPDATE: We have now found it necessary to list Mack as a "Special Needs" adopt. After an oral exam, the vet determined that since he was sick for so long during puppyhood, he will need a yearly dental examination. The enamel on his teeth is not as strong as it should be and is chipping off. We've been told that there is nothing to do about it at this time other than give him soaked kibble as meals. He also cannot have any hard treats or toys as that will only promote the chipping of the enamel. He seems very happy and spoiled about this and is healthy as can be at about 55-60lbs now as an adult :) Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Unless otherwise indicated, puppies are NOT spayed or neutered since our vet recommends waiting until 6mos of age to do so. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. A reputable rescue will have nothing to hide and will answer ALL your questions!!! Please visit our Web Site to see all of the pets we have for adoption. Our site contains information about our adoption process and fees, our application, and answers to frequently asked questions. Please read it carefully before contacting us. Story
Lucille is a 3 year old spayed female Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who weighs 41 lbs. Lucille was rescued from an overcrowded high kill shelter after being found as a stray. If you're looking for a sweet, goofy hound dog look no further than this girl! Lucille is a doll and loves making new friends. Though she is a little shy at first, she warms up quickly. Lucille has been good with other dogs and is playful with her doggie pals. She is much more interested in exploring her surroundings though, and is often found with her nose to the ground. We adore watching her long ears flop in the wind, her tail pointed in the tail. We don't think Lucille has much experience with cats as she seemed fearful of the ones we have introduced her to. We have no doubt Lucille will be a loyal, and loving companion to the family willing to give her a chance... could it be yours??Interested in adopting? Story
Annie the treeing walker coonhound needs someone special to give her a foster home or forever home, she has been waiting so long.  This 7-8 year old girl weighs about 75 pounds and has spent the last 8 months in a crate at a vet’s office In East Tennessee.  Her owner dropped her off and never returned to get her.  The staff didn’t know what To do about it since the local shelter was not a good alternative and so for 8 loooonnnnngggg months this Girl has laid in her kennel/crate and wondered how her life ever got to be like this.  No exercise and just a Smidgen of love daily from the staff.  But this is NO LIFE!  Can someone help change this girl’s Story to something happy.  She will love you forever if you do and so will Critter Cavalry Rescue.  We will provide anything needed for a foster home to open up.  A forever home would be even better but we will just hope for one step at a time.  Can you help sweet Annie???   Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com We transport northward as well every weekend. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Story
Emmaline is a gorgeous pure bred Tree Walking Coonhound that is looking for a wonderful home and family who love the Hound characteristics and gentle ways. This girl is about 2 years old and weighs 50 pounds. She was found at a construction site yard with her 6 puppies that were about 6 weeks old and lucky to be alive. This girl is housetrained and loves to sit and cuddle with you on the sofa. She is fabulous with other dogs and cats as well.   Nothing wrong with this girl except that She doesn’t have a home and family yet.  She is in foster care but the foster mom has to give her up very soon and we are in search of a new foster or a forever home ASAP.   The current foster mom says Emmaline  makes her laugh every day with her delightful personality and her loving ways.   If you are looking for a wonderful medium sized dog to love then Emmaline is the one for you.  She will need a fenced yard because a Hound needs some room to stretch their legs and get that exercise worked off.
