Story
Zuri has the most amazing golden eyes who is an extremely loyal dog! She plays all day long with her doggie mate of the same size and also lives with cats but because she chases them, may be best in a home without kitties. Zuri is protective of her foster mom and is wary about meeting new dogs in public but after gaining confidence, overcomes her fears and settles right in. She is active and enjoys hiking. Zuri would do best with less dominant and docile larger dogs. NOTE: In many cases, these dogs are located in La Paz, BCS, Mexico in foster homes. We transport them to their adopted homes via air transport with a volunteer.

Story
We adopted Rusty a year ago, when he was about 2 year old. He was a very handsome underweight smart dog, with a serious hangup we were unaware of : he is aggressive toward other dogs. He had been in the shelter for 6 days, seemed bouncy yet afraid, really wanting to get out of there! He is affectionate with us and accepting of our other dog, our 13 lb terrier mix. The 2 dogs play together a lot. Rusty is kind and patient with the little teasing terrier never hurting him during their wrestling matches, using soft jaws. Rusty is the Best Ever indoor dog. He is obedient, loves to learn, sits and waits at doors, etc. But when we are out walking in the neighborhood, and we come across another dog, he gets aggressive. After a year of using a variety of means and devices to get him to relax and behave, we are seeing little progress. We are too elderly to continue the level of deep training he still needs. We want him to thrive. We can no longer provide for his needs.

These pups are in Seattle, Washington too!

(This is a courtesy posting.) Hi, my name is GIBBY. Don't ask me why! I have no idea. What's your name? Nice to meet ya! Hey! Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Houston, TX but I want to get OUT of Houston and OUT of Texas so I can have a really good life. I want to see Texas in my rear view mirror. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK? I definitely want a home with a fenced-in yard so I can run and play and be safe. (You may see me posted in other cities looking for my new home.) Wanna know more about me? OK, here goes! I am a Pointer/Retriever mix. I am 2 years old! I weigh 50 pounds. I have had all of my shots and have been neutered and I have a microchip, whatever THAT is. I am house-trained. YAY me!!! Can you stand hearing more good stuff about me? Everyone who knows me says I am a super sweet guy. I'm an active and fun boy. I like to run, play ball and I bet I'd do well in Agility. I could hike and bike, too! I'm your friend and buddy for life! I am a sweet, loving guy that just wants to be with my peeps. OK? I'm happy and smiling all the time! I'm happy cuddling with you and I'm one of the nicest pups you will ever meet. I am sure of that! I'm just an all-round happy boy! Good, huh? Maybe you need me as much as I need you??? If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email doggydarlings12@gmail.com and she can get me on my way to a new and loving home! My adoption fee is $450 USD and includes my vetting, neutering, microchip, health certificate, travel crate AND air transportation from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S. and will be arranged by the rescue group. (This is a courtesy posting.)

Story
Hi I'm Mila! I love love LOVE to snuggle....with humans or pups! When I'm not snuggling, I'm playing with my foster brother. We LOVE to wrestle and chase each other. I'd love a foster sibling, but I'd be ok on my own too. I've lived with a cat before, but I showed quite a bit of interest in it… so no cats for me please. I'm a big fan of kids because they seem to love to pet me and I seem to love to be pet by them. As you can tell I'm a super good girl, but it gets better.... I'm house trained AND crate trained. What can I say, I'm pretty much the whole package. Feel free to insta stalk me: #HoustonCaresMila
