Lucky's bio coming soon! All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis in the Memphis area over 4 months of age is $275.00, a dog under 4 months of age is $300.00 and a cat is $150.00. Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Nashville area is $325.00. The $325.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Nashville area. Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis to the Chicago area is $475.00. The $475.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Chicago area. Our adoption application can be found at http://www.aliverescuememphis.org/adoptionapplication/ Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Sia is a Blue/Black, 2 year old female Weimaraner/Great Dane mix (or a very large weim or a very small dane) we do not have the resources for genetic testing for conclusive results. Sia is very energetic, active and friendly, but needs manners and training. She was neglected and possibly abused (kicked when jumping etc.), so she needs time and patience to reveal her best self. She is sweet but needs to learn people can be kind and loving. She does not like the rain after being left outside for several weeks tied to a propane tank. She will need to be an indoor dog. Sia is being fostered in West Olive, MI.

Thira is a 7 year old, female, blue Weimaraner being fostered in Madison, WI. She is an active girl who loves to run, play, swim, and be with her people. Thira is very fit, strong, knows several commands, and walks well on a leash. She can be a bit bold and rambunctious playing, therefore would be better in a home without children. There free-roams during the day and does not need to be crated. If you are looking for an athletic dog that can keep up with you, then look no further!

Meet Max! He is a 5 year old male weimaraner being fostered in Michigan. His owner had an aneurysm and could not care for him. He is a sweet boy but gets protective of people and space and may run off another dog if given the chance. He would do best with another dog, but one that will not be reactive to him. Max can be fearful and needs a quiet home with a fenced yard. He is a cuddler once he warms up to people but he needs lots of time and loving. He is very comfortable with other dogs. Not playful, but enjoys the company. Quiet. Loves to run and even bike with his owner. Needs socialization to the world. Would be a great boy for the right person. Due to Max's cautious nature and lack of socialization, he would do best in a home without younger children. Max has recanted enjoyed swimming in his foster's swimming pool and is really coming out of his shell in foster!

Cashew is a senior Weim who has come to GLWR when he owner was no longer able to care for her. Due to her age, Cashew would prefer a quieter home. She would do fine as an only dog, or with companions. Cashew would love to be allowed to sleep in bed with her new owner! Her age is an estimate, she could be as young as 8 or as old as 12. She still enjoys a daily stroll, and would love to be with someone to stop and smell the roses with! Cashew is being fostered in IL.
