Story
It's me - Brownie.  I'm a 5 year-old, 70-pound Weimaraner mix.  I was surrendered by my owner becasue their job kept them too busy and they didn't have the time for me.  I have lots of energy and am a very strong girl.  I'm friendly to other dogs but like to play, so senior dogs probably aren't the right fit for me.  I'm house-broken and crate-trained.  I'm happy and wiggly and just waiting for someone that wants to spend time playing with me.  I recently had to have a little tumor on my belly removed and my new owner will want to make sure they keep up with checking to make sure I don't get any more.  I'm up to date on my vaccines, am spayed and ready for adoption.  I will need someone that will help me walk nicely on leash and I jump up when I'm excited.  Come meet me in Houston. ##525756##

Story
My name is Bandit.  I'm an 8 year-old, 53 pound gray male, and I’m the sweetest pup dog you’ll ever meet.  I get along with other dogs and I’m great with kids. I have one four-legged foster brother, and as long as we are fed in separate places, we get along great even though he can be a little grouchy. I also have a two-legged 1 year-old foster sister, and I think she is great. I let her pet me and I give her kisses. I am potty trained, crate trained, and know how to use the doggie door. I can even be left out during the day as long as there isn’t any food left on the counter tops. I know basic commands. However, I am very food driven so I need some help on learning to take treats gently.  I’ve gone through heart worm treatment, and let me tell you I’m so excited to be finished!  I can’t wait to go for walks and run around in the backyard. Did I mention that I am a gentlemen in the car. I think I will make the perfect family dog.  I'm being fostered in Houston if you want to meet me. ##490344##

Story
I’m St. Charles, otherwise known as Charlie. I’m a 7-year-old, 70-pound male blue Weimaraner. In my past life, I came into rescue in December of 2018 as part of a cruelty case after having been severely neglected and starved, but those days are long behind me. In fact, I heard my foster mom saying that she wasn't sure this day would ever be possible to be "ready for adoption" because I came in so frail and sick.  I love the rescue life! My favorite thing to do is be everywhere you are. I love to cuddle on the couch and I get along just dandy with my four-legged brother and sister even though my sister doesn’t like me much. Cat’s are a no-no though. I use the doggy door like a champ. I can be crated but I don’t like it, so you’ll have to give me treats to go in. I almost always behave nicely while Mom’s away, but I’ve been known to counter surf while Mom’s at work. My foster mom doesn't have children, but I'm pretty sure I would be ok with kids as long as they treated me real nice.  For the most part, I listen real good and will do most anything for treats! My foster Mom always says I’m special and she’s right. I’m a special needs dog because I have a heart murmur and dialated cardiomiopathy (DCM). That means I’ll need medication for the rest of my life and a non-grain free diet. Have no fear, I always take my pills in a treat! Because I wasn’t taken care of properly, I had those nasty heartworms, but treatment is behind me now. I came through with flying colors. I am neutered and I am currently being fostered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I just adore my humans and I love to give hugs! Even though I do okay with other dogs, I love to have attention just for me! I like taking short walks, and I love to sleep on my comfy beds right near my foster Mom. Are you looking for a best fur-ever friend? I’m just the special boy for you! ##359219##

Story
Brooklyn is a 6 year-old, 45-pound gray female being boarded in Houston.  Even though she is 6, she is very energetic and needs a lot of exercise.  She would be an ideal dog for agility.  She is a cuddler and wants to be right next to you when she wants attention. She is good with other dogs, but can get possessive, so you have to make her earn her place in the pack.  She takes time to warm up to people, but once she does she is super sweet. She does great on car rides.  She has spent the last 2 months at our boarding facility in Houston under the direction of a trainer that has taught her basic obedience and leash walking.  She has learned how to play and likes any type of tugging toy.  She likes squeaker toys and natural bones. She will bring them into bed and keep you up all night if you don't take them away.  She also likes socks...so watch your laundry!! When petting her she still nips once in awhile when she's done.  She wants to lay by/on you, but will only deal with petting for so long.  She will usually put her head up to signal that she's had enough. She doesn't like sudden movements toward her and is hesitant about having her hind quarters touched until she really gets to trust you.  She would do best in a less chaotic but still active environment. She needs someone who will continue and be consistent in her training.  If she is adopted in Houston, the trainer will spend time with the adopter to help them go forward with what she has learned.  ##407123##

Story
Hello friends! My name is Mac, I’m a loving, 5-year-old, 55-pound, silver Weimaraner (possibly a with a sprinkle of lab) who is looking for a furever family.  I am house trained. Not to toot my own , but I’m pretty smart - so far, I know get down, down, up/hug, sit, crate, fetch and giving the ball up , and even taking baths!! I’m great at going to the crate when left alone and at night; I like other dogs - but I’m definitely more of a people-dog; I’m also good with kids - I’m not picky about who loves on me! I haven’t been tested with cats yet, but foster mom noticed that I didn’t care when they were at the vet. My foster mom found out I was HW+ a few days after getting me - so I’ve been on exercise restriction, but she thinks that 1-2 hours of active play (even indoors) would be enough for me, I’m not destructive with my toys, just remember to give me pets and attention at the other times.  I would love for my furever family to play fetch with me (foster mom taught me), give me lots of cuddles and pets and loves, and let me stay as close to them as possible (I guess visual contact counts). I don’t like being away from my people and I don’t want to be friends with the vacuum. I promise to learn commands quickly (just use treats), be gentle with my toys (just remember to be generous with the peanut butter in my Kong )... I still need to learn about long walks and social events while on a leash. I can’t wait to meet you and hope you’ll teach me all about the world. I'm being fostered in Brownsville - don't miss meeting me. ##548524##

Story
Hey there, I'm Dawson.  I'm a 1-year-old, 50-pound Weim mix that is being borded in the Dallas area.  I'm an active boy that loves my people but what Weim doesn't?  I can be in a crate but not for long periods of time becasue I really don't like it all that well.  I love doggy day care and cuddling up to you when I'm all worn out.  I'm up for lots of exercise and a family that is ready for an active, fun boy.  If you would like to foster me to help me get to my forever home, please submit an application. ##556651##
