Story
Check out Roxy's Instagram @RoxyLotsofLove! Name: RoxySuspected Breed(s): Weimaraner mixAge: 2 years oldWeight: 47 lbsPersonality: Snuggler, gentle, good running partner, smart, funny, loyal, trainable, affectionate, playful, goofy, friendly, quick learner, eager to please, and protective. Observations with Dogs: Does well with other dogs, very playful. Enjoys the dog park and day care. Gets along great and walks well with her foster siblings, but gets overly excited and needs to learn how to meet new dogs while on leash. She can also be a little bossy, so would likely not be a good fit in a home with a dominant dog.Observations with Cats: Would be best in a home without catsObservations with Kids: Roxy needs slow introductions to children, as they frighten her initially and she'll bark at them. Once she gets to know them she is very snuggly and loving. Roxy would do best in a home without children under age 11. House Training Progress: No recent accidentsCrate Training Progress: Does fine in the crate for a couple hours. However, she doesn't really like the crate and is very well behaved, so she is trusted by her fosters to roam freely during the day.Location: Needs foster; DC metro areaRescued From: Galax, VAAdditional Information:  Roxy is a sweet, affectionate, gal. She loves to run and play, but she is also good at just relaxing and hanging out. She adores playing with her toys, fetching balls, and playing tug of war with her humans or canine siblings. Roxy also loves to snuggle on the couch with her people. Whether she’s snuggling up to her favorite person or playing with her fellow pups, this cutie has a great time. Roxy gets a little nervous meeting new people. Her excitement can sometimes be a little noisy at first, but she settles quickly and then wants to be best friends. She’s incredibly smart, trainable, and responsive to her name and correction, and she already knows words like “sit,” “stay,” “wait,” “look,” "leave it", "find it", "drop it", "hug", "place", "down", "off", "crate", "touch" and “come.” Roxy finds the whole world extremely exciting and tends to get overwhelmed by a lot of stimulation. She’d do best in a quieter suburban area where this is less action (apartment living would not be a good fit for Roxy). Apply today to meet Roxy! We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs. ##337970##
