Story
12 yr old, 11 lb Westie and Poodle Mix SPAYED FEMALE for ADOPTION Meet Blair! Blair is a ~12 yr old, 11 lb Westie and Poodle Mix SPAYED FEMALE who joins us from Wasco Animal Shelter Volunteer Crusaders Blair has been microchipped, vaccinated, is free of parasites and had senior labwork. She will be getting a dental cleaning as soon as possible. As you can see in the third picture below, Blair looked like a sheep when she came to the shelter but she was so matted that she had to be shorn like a sheep for what we call a 'do-over'... we expect that she will be quite cute when her hair grows back out. Blair is mostly (if not all the way) blind. She seems to manage well after she learns the layout of the home. She also takes a very cheap medication (about $25/YEAR per GoodRx) for arthritis. Her foster mom says this about her: She tolerated a bath really well. She did great in the car and does as well as could be expected on her leash in the yard. She pretty much ignored our dog, hasn't been around any kids so far but would likely be fine, pottied outside, and napped well in her crate. She seems like a nice dog.' She did not bother the cats at our vet clinic and she seems like a very quiet and gentle girl. She is fostered in the SF Bay Area of CA and will only be available to people willing to come to us to adopt for 30 days (starting 3/30/2020). If she has not been adopted by then, we will consider out-of-area transports depending on the COVID-19 situation (as our transports are very affected by the virus and quarantine). She qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors Program where pets over age 5 are available to people over age 55 for a $5 adoption fee (application required and regular adoption criteria apply). If you are interested in adopting, please send a detailed email to beourpet@gmail.com If you cannot adopt but would like to make a tax-deductible donation towards her care, you can do so at www.paypal.me/UOH Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue Zelle beourpet@gmail.com You can also buy Umbrella of Hope merchandise where you not only advertise our cause with cute clothes, but the proceeds also benefit our medical fund — at tinyurl.com/pineappletee We have an Etsy store where all proceeds benefit our medical fund at https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish #savingwhilequarantine #quarantinebutsavetheanimals #socialdistancingplus1 #socialdistancingwithpaws #pawsonsocialdistancing #adoptionsinCOVID19 #dontquarantinealone #quarantinebuddy #wereinthistogether #startastoryadopt #shelterpetlove #clanblair #westiepoo GENERAL INFO: Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Yes Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: Yes Good with cats?: Yes, we think so Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: yes Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is a non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals off death row from local shelters. We offer rebates of adoption fees after completion of obedience classes and CGC titles. Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet. Some of our senior animals have sponsorships for their food/vet care/medicine for the rest of their life at our vet in Pittsburg, CA (94565) Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service. Other retired public servants, please let us know what career you retired from and we can let you know if we offer any discounts for your adoption Please send an email to the Umbrella Of Hope Animal Director with any inquiries at beourpet@gmail.com.
