Story
We love our Kona! But we are unable to give her the care she needs. She is 6 years old and high needs. She has a seizure disorder which is managed by medication which she needs 2x/day. The main problem with Kona is that she will not go to the vet. She is super sweet, happy, wags her tail, and eats treats but as soon at the vet tries to give her a shot she goes into attack mode. She has never bitten anyone and up until recently, she tolerated vaccines and trips to the vet. We cannot board her and managing her seizures is difficult--since she won't go to the vet. We have been taking her to SE Portland Animal Hospital and they have a record of her vet-related behavior. They have been very understanding. After a seizure, Kona behaves in a strange, creepy way for about an hour. I have two kids and I am not comfortable with them being at home alone with her. She is vacant and runs around not knowing her name or who you are. Kona is fine with cats and other dogs.
