Story
Terrance was found as a matted horrid smelling stray wondering around. He was found and taken to a local vet clinic where is was quickly discovered he was blind, nearly fully deaf, had a hugely infected mouth and nasal cavity (due to rotten teeth breaking the thin membrane from K9 teeth to the nasal passages- called a oral nasal fistula) he was matted, malnourished and missing a couple nails on his paws, refused to be groomed without biting and the vet couldn't treat him as a stray. Good new was he was microchipped! So we thought....sadly when contacted the family let us know they rehomed him at 3 years old 13 YEARS PRIOR TO BEING FOUND! That they also didn't know who they gave him to nor did they sadly want him back due to age and health, so he became in need urgently to find rescue for vet care!!We agreed to take him in, did his senior blood work up which showed he was in really good health internally, so we set up a dental, sedated shave and grooming, vaccines, neuter and a quick clean up of his paws/nails that were caked in fecal matter and slightly infected. We shaved him down discovering rashes and skin infections, he was started on antibiotics already prior to surgery, so he was kept on antibiotics, he sadly had to have all his teeth removed as they were all grossly infected and bad for his health. He is slowly recovering but slowly becoming the sweet old man we KNEW HE WAS! ##572975##
