This beautiful sweetheart needs a new loving, nurturing family. She is very calm, but loves walks, bones/treats and short interactive playtime and would make a great addition for a Singleton, couple or to a family with older children. She's 9 years old and has been with me for 8 years. It absolutely breaks my heart to have to find her a new home, but with the addition of a new baby and having moved across country and now living with a family member that is allergic, I am unable to keep her and would like to find the best possible home for her. Story

Dakota is a loving 6 year old Alaskan Malamute mix. We got her when she was 8 weeks old and have loved her ever since. Dakota loves taking walks, being outside, trails, and eating (she's a little chunky). She can be very independent, but can also warm up to other animals over time and create a bond. She gets along great with our other large dog and cat, however, we cannot take her to the dog park because she seems to always get into altercations. We are looking for a new home for Dakota we are not able to manage her attitude toward our 17 month old son. We have a lot, but in the end, she does not get along well with small children. She growls when he enters the room, snips at him if he gets too close, and has nipped him in the past. We are too worried about our son's safety to keep Dakota in our home. In addition, we think Dakota has a recent UTI, as she has started to leak urine when standing. She has done this in the past and antibiotics has cleared it up and stopped the urinating.
