Liz and her year old pup Betty were both brought into the Orangeburg, SC shelter as strays. They had been hanging around someone’s house for several days and the homeowners did not want them. Liz is a sweet, friendly, attentive, eager- to-please submissive girl who loves attention. Liz dances around on her hind legs in her outdoor pen where she is kenneled with her pup when anybody comes by. She and her pup eat together without any resource guarding. She eagerly but gently takes treats wagging her tail exuberantly. She is a little hesitant to walk on a leash and quickly cowers down exiting the noisy kennels with barking dogs all around her. She does not object at all to being carried out past all the other dogs. Overall, Liz is a beautiful, friendly happy girl with a lot of playful energy! Since Liz is such a young girl, Liz would do best with a fenced in backyard where she could run and play off leash. Age: 2 years Weight: 65 lbs Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative Training: kennel trained. Would benefit from basic training. Temperament: Good with dogs, kids, and non-reactive to shelter cats

Butler was picked up by animal control on March 3, 2020 in Orangeburg, South Carolina from a cruelty case. He was one of two dogs on premises found chained up without proper care. The county animal control named him Rhett Butler because he is a true southern gentleman! Located at the very end of all the kennels, Rhett Butler patiently waits his turn to go out and gently takes treats. He is well mannered and polite although he craves attention as he loves everybody. He does not jump up on you and he knows how to sit on command. He loves to be outside and have his tummy rubbed, too. He is definitely one of the favorites at the shelter 💙 Rhett would be happiest with a fenced yard that he could run and play in. You need a best friend -- Meet the amazingly striking Orri!! You will never meet another dog as loyal and as handsome . We think that he may be part hound but with his spots, who knows? As you can see from his entry date at the shelter he has been there Way too long. It is unfortunately the time of the year when the shelter is normally full and with Covid-19 the shelter is "over full" and will be taking measure to reduce population so we are trying really hard to find him a forever family as soon as possible, he is definitely worth saving! Orri is super sweet and loving. He knows to sit when told, he is housebroken and also likes children. He was brought to the shelter as an owner turn in on 10/31/2019. His previous owner said that they got him for their daughter, she didn't know how to handle him because he is strong and instead of giving him leash training they instead chose to put him in the shelter. Having a home and then suddenly being in a shelter environment is really difficult. Orri is about 7 years old and about 68 lbs. He is current on his vaccines, neutered, micro-chipped and has tested negative for heartworms. His ID at the shelter is 619193.
