Story
Hi! I'm Arnold. I'm from Kansas! Meet Arnold! Arnold is a neutered American Bulldog/boxer mix. He is about 4 months and 15 pounds. Arnold gets along well with everyone he meets. He is a happy, healthy puppy who is ready to find his forever home! Can you help him? Arnold arrives on 4/21 with his brother Jerald. From his foster: Arnold is a fun, playful pup who seems to enjoy everyone he meets. He is good with kids, dogs, adults and is rather indifferent when it comes to cats. Arnold is bigger than his brother but plays fairly when they wrestle with each other. He likes playing with his toys and playing tug of war with his brother. He is food motivated, a fast learner and already knows "sit" and is partially house trained. Working on the pee part, but usually finds a pad if he can't get outside fast enough. Arnold is crate trained and would love to just sit with you on the couch for a snuggle and a nap. He would love to have another dog to play with but would also be fine on his own too, since he is eager to please his humans. He is great with kids, adults and other dogs. He is curious about the resident cat but doesn't chase. Overall, Arnold is a sweet, loving pup.

Hi! I'm Arnold. I'm from Kansas! Meet Jerald! Jerald is a neutered American Bulldog/boxer mix. He is about 4 months and 20 pounds. Jerald gets along well with everyone he meets. He is a happy, healthy puppy who is ready to find his forever home! Can you help him? Jerald arrives on 4/21 with his brother Arnold. From his foster: Jerald is a normal puppy who likes to explore his environment and play with his brother. He can be very focused on his people and loves to sit with you on the couch for a snuggle and nap. He is working on commands. He's pretty good with "sit" and will sit and look at you expectantly if you ask him if he is a good boy. Very food motivated, so training should come easier. He is working on potty training, and will always go outside for number 2, but still trying to control his pee in the house. He is small and can't hold it as long as his bigger brother, and has had a few accidents in the crate if left in too long (more than 4 hours or so). He is a sweet, loving pup, with a bit of an attitude and can be a bit stubborn at times. He would love to have another dog to play with but would also be fine on his own too, since he is eager to please his humans. He is great with kids, adults and other dogs. He is curious about the resident cat but doesn't chase.

Story
Hi there, I’m Bob. Foster mama calls me Bobby but she also calls me Bobber, Robby, Robert, Roberto, Bobster, Bobosso…the list goes on and on. I don’t care, I love everything she calls me because I really love my people. And I equally love strangers - I’ll likely roll right over and shamelessly ask for a belly rub from anyone who’ll pay attention to me! An average day for me goes something like this: I roll out of (your) bed where I’ve spent the night sleeping soundly, quiet as a mouse. I’m excited to start a new day by running out to potty then screaming back inside because it’s BREAKFAST time! After breakfast I bee-line for the couch where I cozy up for a morning nap while foster parents get ready for work. Then they say it’s “kennel time” and as much as I hate those words, I trot off to my kennel where I spend the day until they get home. When the foster parents get home, I can hardly contain myself, I’m so excited! I bark and dance to come out of my kennel and I BOLT like a rocket outta there. Then I bark and bounce, run around and jump, and I get a little nippy - you’ll have to be aware of this and work on it with me, sorry. I’m just so excited to be out that I can't help myself. My “distaste” for the kennel comes from my past: last year I was diagnosed with heart worm and had to spend 4 long months on strict kennel rest to limit my activity. It was horrible, I hated it, and developed a little anxiety for the kennel. Now, on my way to 100% heart worm free (yay!), I’ve been working really hard on kennel training again - and making great progress! Back to my day: I usually get a Kong to work out my energy, then maybe a walk, DINNER time, and then spend the evening playing with my foster dog sisters and some toys. I'll snuggle on the couch until bed time, then run to be the first one in (your) bed (Don’t even consider adopting me if you don’t want to sleep with me - snuggling with my humans is the best part of life, period). I live with two dogs and I love them. We wrestle, play chase in the snow, share toys nicely, and snuggle up when it’s time to relax. I can be a little overzealous in meeting new dogs, so intros need to be done slowly, but I’m happy and silly and playful and adapt quickly with dogs my size. I might be a little rough-and-tumble for smaller dogs…I’m not all that graceful. I’ve met a cat once and wasn’t too interested, but it’s been while and I’d have to meet one again to see if I can control my excitement around them. Kids are fun too, though again, I’m clumsy and might knock the little ones over! I’m currently taking Obedience Level 1 and learning to focus and cope with excitement in an appropriate way and improving those skills every day. I’m young and excitable and I’ve still got some “puppy” in me; I can get into mischief sometimes; but overall I’m really easy to live with. I adjust well to almost any home, I'm a good listener, I'm an easy walker, and I love car rides. So, after growing up on the streets and in a shelter in Texas, moving across the country, surviving heart worm, and living in rescue for six months, I’m ready to settle into a forever home and become someone’s can’t-live-without BFF. If you’re “the one,” you’ll foster* me until my last heart worm test in June, then we’ll officially become a family. Follow me on Instagram @adopt_bob and see more of my day to day or to reach out and ask me questions. Then, once you decide that I'm your soul dog, apply to adopt me! *Bob needs one final negative heartworm test to complete his treatment. He's had one negative result already and is currently happy, healthy and under no restrictions! As Bob's foster-to-adopt, Save-a-Bull covers all his expenses and vet care until he officially becomes yours.   Bob is sponsored by Loni S. and by GrimmSpeed If you'd like to sponsor a dog, please click here.

If you are interested in SULLY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to sarahbeth.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. To know SULLY is to love him. He is so cute it’s hard to believe he is real. His wrinkly face and body make it impossible not to want to squeeze and cuddle him. He adores both giving and receiving affection. On top of his good looks, SULLY is tons of fun. He is one of those dogs that will have a blast wherever he is. He loves to play and have a good time. He is a huge fan of toys, sunning and romping through the yard. Romping is of course followed by a long nap! SULLY has been outstanding with every dog he meets, regardless of age or size, he is even good with kitties. He shares his foster home with one resident dog and his foster parents say they are rarely ever apart. SULLY loves adventures and exploring new places. His confident, happy-go-lucky personality makes it so much fun to take him to all sorts of dog friendly venues. SULLY is housebroken and very well behaved in his crate when no one is home. His forever family is going to make so many wonderful memories with SULLY for many years to come. To see even more pictures of SULLY copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7pljbdw78q82k1s/AAAQxcsWgU0ER7awbyOPN223a?dl=0 SULLY is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. His $490 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the Midwest after he is officially adopted. For an adoption application on SULLY click here Please email the completed application to sarahbeth.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our Nashville, Knoxville and some New England adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com). We also use Pet Express Tupelo (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com/). For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport). Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Introducing Indi JuM The smell of coconut oil might render images of sun tans, pool floats, beachy hair in your 20’s now age spots and regrets in your 50’s. I have spots too, but they aren’t from years of not using sunscreen, those are just my natural adorable splotches visibull due to my lack of hair. The aroma of coconut oil is reminiscent of massages and rub downs for me. I am healing from a horribull skin condition due to neglect. In a few weeks, we will do a big reveal to see my AFTER pics. We have already been rehearsing some outfit choices. Bunny ears? Scarf? Birthday suit? Crusts is good if they are connected to pizza or blueberry pie. Crusts are not good when they are on a dog. The healing process is a well, it’s a process. My white and brindle hairs are falling out with the scabs. I am getting special baths and coconut oil massages. More please! Thank you to the kids who did my first spaw treatments. I love it. Now my fresh new supple skin will be able to grow a new stunning coat. Everyone calls me Indi. I am a female 4 to 5 year old American Bulldog mix. I weighed 72 pounds the day I left the city shelter. They expect that I might fill out a little more, so I am listed as an 80 pound dog. I walk great on a leash and I am crate trained. My ultimutt goal is to please humans even though humans have not always done the best job at keeping me in pleasing condition. When I was at the city shelter place in my concrete and wire holding pen, I had purty much hit the shutdown button on my life. All the hope had been drained out like a deflated pool float at the end of summer. As soon as I got to rescue camp, the entire vibe changed, I did a full on zoomie circle figure 8 run in the pasture. Boogie boogie wiggle wiggle, and a full-on rendition of Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off. I did make a pit stop occasionally to get a people hug and hot dog bite. I know now the rest of my life is going to be full of only the good kinds of crusts, pizza, chicken pot pies, and ribeyes, yes, steaks have crusts if you do it right! Basics: Indi JuM- female, 4 years, 80 lbs, American Bulldog mix, white with brindle patches, good with dogs, good with kids, loving, calm but can get bursts of energy (her personality is still coming out as she feels better and better), loving, crate and leash trained, came from ACS in terrible condition but getting better every day

Story
My name is Ms Kitty. History: Dogs live in the present becuz we are gifts! But I do think my history is impawtant to mention. I was found emaciated, it is a fancy human word for too skinny and very hungry! I was also lactating, that is a human fancy word for her boobies are full of milk! Sadly, a search for my puppies was fruitless. Now I am working on getting my teenage body back in check. Favorite Toy: A little hedgehog, his name is Senor Hedgehog. Age/Weight/Breed: I am listed as an American Bulldog/Lab mix. Appawimuttly 1-2 years old and 50-60 lbs. We will know a better weight once my figure is normal again. Scariest Moment in Foster Care: This one time, I was just minding my bidness in my pen area and my entire doggie bed exploded. There was brown fuzzies everywhere. I was lucky that I wasn’t hurt. Foster Mom should call the manufacturer, an exploding bed must be defective. We should ask for a refun because this bed was not fun. Good with Dogs? Yes, but I lack some doggy social skills and can be too much for some doggies and overwhelp them. So it will depend on how your doggie feels about my energy and vibe. If they are fun, they should like me. Good with Kitty Cats?: I am good with cats, but I do like to invite them to play in yo face. Foster Mommy’s cats are dog savvy and used to knuckleheads like me, so they don’t mind. Again, it will be up to your cats to decide. Are they fun? Then, yes, they will like me. I am also easily corrected with verbal commands like “no, kitty doesn’t like that”. Hey, wait. I am the kitty? I am the Ms Kitty. What is this all about, am I a cat too????? House Manners: I am house trained, crate trained but prefer a little roaming room. I am energetic, but very sweet. I know “sit” and we are working on more commands. Favorite Show: Curb Your Enthusiam! Foster Mommy says I need to put a curb on my enthusiastick nature so that other doggies and cats don’t get annoyed. Favorite Game: I love FETCH. I prefer indoor fetch rather than outdoor fetch, so I hope you have a nice runway for me to pounce the toy. Indoors or Outdoors: Indooooorrrrrrs. Honestly, after living on the streets, I am so happy to be indoors, I really only like outside for potty time and that is it. You will know when I am ready to come back in, I sit on the patio chair and do a bork. Final Ask: I really love people and will be an amazing addition to your family. If you cats and dogs don’t mind and enthusiastick doggie, they will like me too. Foster Mom says I deserve to be spoiled and it makes total scents, because I am the color a dairy cow and therefur you can spoil me like milk! Even though my milk is finally gone. Trust me, it makes scents. Basics: Ms Kitty LCW- female, 1-2 years, 50-60 lbs, American Bulldog/Lab mix, good with dogs, good with cats, enthusiastic, loves fetch, fun and sweet, white/black spots, crate and leash trained, a really sweet girl who is ready to start a better life than she knew
