Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This says it all: From Coconut's foster home. Coconut (we have been calling him “Groot”; just look at those big beady dark Groot eyes!) has been an absolute joy to have in our home. When you look into his eyes, just know that is what his personality is like! He is the perfect size, medium at about 40lbs. He’s a quiet, sweet, LOVE LOVE LOVING dog and aims to please everyone. He just melts right onto you. From day one, he has been tremendously easy in the household. He took to our other dog immediately. They have been inseparable since. I believe based on his personality he would do well with ANY dog. I don’t have any children, and he has not been around any, but I believe he would adore them! Being a typical dog, he has been curious of our cats (we have three), but as time has gone on, he is becoming less and less interested and has NEVER shown any aggression towards them. He loves to be outdoors, basking in the sunlight. Groot and our dog spent almost all weekend in our backyard playing. We went for our first walk on Sunday (I believe it was his first walk EVER), just a short round about, and it was a little scary but I kept him motivated with treats and he pepped back up each time. I believe with time he will learn to love it. He has been crated when we are away and has done phenomenal at adjusting to it. With a little encouragement from a Kong filled with treats, he now willing goes into it when asked. He has been completely house trained since we have had him, no accidents in the house at all. I have taught Groot how to sit, shake with both paws, lie down, and stay from a short distance. He is easy to train, and as I had stated early, just aims to please! You will NOT regret adopting him, I promise! Story
Zonee is the kind of dog that wants to be the center of attention all the time. She would make an amazing hiking partner, because she definitely has enough energy to spare! Once she is calm though, which really doesn't take that much time, she just wants to hang out with you. She really has no problem letting you know that its time for you to turn your attention to her either! She has that typical pit bull smile that just melts your heart! Are you looking for a new hiking buddy or even just a new best friend? Zonee definitely is looking for a new best friend!*Zonee has lived with dogs, but a dog introduction would be mandatory**We have no history on Zonee with cats**Teens and up* Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 47.8 Age: 3yrs 0mths 1wks

She prefers to be  with a companion while I’m at work. She’s good during storms but doesn’t like to get her hair wet, like most girls, so is reluctant to go out in the rain. Story
We do not euthanize any dogs, dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved and we can only do this when space is available or have an adopter. If you are interested in Sissy-URGENT please do not wait!! If you would like to apply to take Sissy-URGENT home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Sadly, Buddy and Sissy’s owner passed away, and no one in the family could take them. They had been their owner’s constant companions. Sissy ready to come for pets right away, but Buddy is frightened at the shelter and needs more time to trust. Eventually, he will let you pet him and give him treats. Both are senior dogs and love being together. Buddy is bonded with Sissy, they do everything together! Buddy looks to have a bassett hound body with a labrador head? We don't have their weights right now as they are self conscious and working on losing some extra pounds at the moment. They are both house trained and easy to walk on a leash. The person that brought them in said that Buddy is good with children, but Sissy is a little skittish around them. We think with all of the changes in their lives, they deserve to enjoy their golden years together in a quiet home with no children. They’re sharing a kennel, and Sissy will greet you with a tail wag. Buddy is nervous in a kennel, but once he’s out, he’s a happy fellow. Both are sweet dogs! Buddy has a cherry eye but that will be fixed before he comes home to you, don't let that discourage you from adopting the perfect pair of dogs! Both are HW negative, fully vetted and ready to go to a soft bed in a loving home!
