Story
Luna is a young, high-energy American Staffordshire Terrier, born April, 2019. She is an athlete who needs lots of playtime and stimulation each day. Although she gets slightly nervous in new environments, she has never been aggressive in any way. When meeting new people and new dogs, she gets very excited. She is still learning that she shouldn’t jump up on people. She has never been allowed to get up on furniture or sit on laps so she settles for sleeping on feet. Luna takes several naps during the day, and likes to finish her day at about 8:30 p,m. Luna needs a securely fenced yard where she can get some exercise by playing fetch and tug-of-war, but if she gets bored when outside, she will dig or find a stick to chew. This sweet dog loves going for walks, but needs to be walked by a strong person who is firm with her. Luna is very intelligent. She rings a bell when she wants to go outside, and she knows the basic puppy commands.
In Luna’s forever home, she will love to be the center of attention; however another active dog her size may be a good idea to help her burn energy. Her new family needs to be certain that she gets plenty of attention and exercise so that she can be her best self. She needs a dog savvy owner who is firm enough to encourage proper behavior. Although Luna does fine with young children, we recommend that there be only older children who can handle her size and energy. A fenced yard is a must.

This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions.
The suggested adoption donation for Lunais $350. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.
Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.
Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
