Story
Dory is a Cinderella story of rising from the ashes of a terrible home and hoarding situation in Tennessee to a loving foster who has worked diligently with this Girl for the past 6 months.  This girl is a big Hound/Lab mix girl that is just a year old and weighs 60 pounds.   She has been slowly learning to trust humans and Has always adored other dogs and now even likes and loves the cats at her foster home.  This pretty girl will always have a huge shyness and timidness about Her initial first meeting of new people.   You just cannot expect that to go totally away.  But what you can see if a loving and sweet fragile soul that has fought Hard to overcome some hardships that came to her early in her life.  She is especially fond of children, female humans and smaller framed men that do not tower Over her.  She is crate trained, pretty good on a leash, and loves to play ball and with toys that she can do tug of war with.   She is always going to be unfolding Like a flower in her life.  Slow, methodical and a little progress every month and every year just to keep you encouraged.  She does enjoy affection from the humans She is used to being around.   If you are interested in this sweet soul of a girl please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Story
Beauty comes in all sizes and in Ziggy's case, beauty just happens to be XXL!. This wonderful Anatolian Shepherd mix boy is massive in stature but not in weight (he's only around 60 pounds)and he is tall!. Don't let his size fool you, he's more than prepared to be someone's lap dog. Ziggy is a loving, playful 2 year old that somehow managed to end up in a very small kill shelter located in Middle TN. We can't believe that someone was foolish enough to let this wonderful dog go, but Critter Cavalry is prepared to give this boy the life he deserves. Ziggy needs a fenced yard And to be an only dog. This guy is up for an active lifestyle but will also be perfectly happy with evening walks through the neighborhood and a big doggie bed to sleep on at night. If you're looking for a loyal companion and XXL just happens to be your size, Ziggy is the man for you!  email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.   He is prepared to travel northward or to adopt locally in Tennessee   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Story
Meet Mazie JuM Name: My name is Mazie, short for Amazing. Amazing that I am still alive after scrounging for food trying to stay out of the way of meanies while living as a stray in a local neighborhood. *womp womp Debbie Downer alert* Favorite Food: Pizza crust. Tortilla with bean essence and a French fry that touched a hamburger patty but also touched the pavement. Look guys, I am not a foodie yet, I am just now adjusting to being taken care of. At a later date, I plan to have a favorite food. P.S. It won’t be sushi, I want my stuff cooked, now that I am fancy. Age/Weight/Breed: I am about 1.5 years old and weigh 40 lbs. They had me labeled the ever so pupular “Lab” mix, but think I am mixed with something smaller and cute like a Collie or Australian Shepherd. Favorite Song: Girl by Maren Morris. Temperament: Look guys, I was living on my own for a while and lemme tell ya something, not all humans are nice and it was wise that I practiced avoidance when I could. I am gaining weight and confidence, and I must say the weight was much easier to gain, from 31 pounds up to 40 pounds. I am shy at first, but really sweet once you can be trusted. What The Volunteer Has to Say About Her: Mazie would do best in a quiet non busy home setting since she is shy. Even better would be a laid back and confident buddy in the home that can show her how to act. She's great with other dogs and with patience warms up to people. Leash and crate trained. To see her blossom in a loving home will be such a joy.

THE FIRST STEP IN THE PROCESS IS SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION EMBEDDED IN THE LISTING DESCRIPTION IF YOU READ THROUGH. WE DO NOT ACCEPT ADOPT-A-PET APPLICATIONS. WE CANNOT ANSWER EMAILS ASKING ABOUT A DOG'S AVAILABILITY. IF IT IS LISTED WITHOUT THE WORD "PENDING" IT MEANS IT IS AVAILABLE. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE Check out ALL of our listings at this link!! When we first met Marley, she was down in a ditch on the side of a busy highway, mangled and couldn't move. Clearly she had been hit by a car and she needed help urgently. One of our volunteers was the one who discovered her and brought her to the ER. Somehow, her family was located, but they couldn't afford to take on the expenses necessary to save her so they surrendered her to our group. Although the first surgery saved her leg, it became more of a problem over time, so eventually Marley had to have it amputated. The good news is, dogs don’t have body-image issues after an amputation!! And Marley's been running around ever since! *Here's a link to an informative article about Tri-pawds
