He can be possessive of his food around other animals. He is used to children as young as three and is playful but rough with them too. He never wants to be left alone and needs companionship. He can be quite vocal at times. He was given up because his owners lost their home so he lost his too. He is house trained and spent his days either inside or outside. My name is Bailey and I am 9months old and super friendly. I live with a 5 year old boy and 14 year old Chihuahua. As you can imagine my high energy can be a little much for my much older Chihuahua buddy, but I more than match up with my energetic 5 year old companion. I am a herder dog and tend to herd my boy companion, which is great benefit for my foster mommy when my 5 year old buddy goes wandering off. I am a jumper and have not quite mastered the art of walking on a leash (I pull) but I am excited to go outside and meet all the wonderful animals in the neighborhood. When I meet a new dog I will sniff and wag my tail. I will bark in excitement, but never to threaten. I am larger than most dogs in my area and tend to treat the smaller dogs with interest. They do not get that my puppy instinct is to play and run away most times. I love to lean in on legs to get closer to my foster mommy and brother. I am looking for a forever home with large yard to run and kids to play with.

I like go outside and run around to feel a nice breeze through my fluff, but I also enjoy lounging around and watching TV. I am sweet, smart, and loyal. When I form a bond with my human, I need to know when I am being overprotective. I respond well to corrections, and I'm highly treat motivated! I’m house trained, know a few tricks (sit, down, no, paw). I play well with dogs and enjoy a good chase, but I need time to get to know other pups before I feel comfortable playing with them. I need a family that has the time and resources to help me work on my quirks (separation anxiety, resource guarding, overprotective of my handler) because I am not doing well in this apartment. After 3 years my owners surrendered me back to PUPS because I kept leaving our property. Hey, it was a small yard with a low fence and temptation got the better of me! I like kids and dogs but if you love your cat, I’m not the dog for you. I am housebroken, crate trained and walk well on a leash. My ideal home and yard should be large enough to accommodate a big guy like me, a 5 foot (or taller) fenced yard and the opportunity to spend time indoors too—especially when it thunders.
