We have 3 dogs. One 8 year old female Anatolian Shepard black lab mix (Meka). One female pit bull lab mix that is 4-5 years old (Xena). Finally one male dachshund mix that is 7-8. The two larger females do not get along very well. The Anatolian is protective of us and does not like the younger female. Currently we can manage them. However we are expecting a new baby. We are concerned we will struggle to deescalate the tension between the two females once the new baby arrives. Meka is a wonderful friend and K9 that will hopefully be a great companion for someone that needs one.

Buffy is a beautiful 3 year old shepherd mix. She is one of our "Pack" 29" as seen on the Dodo last year rescued from soccer fields south of Dallas. Buffy is great with her foster kiddos but we believe her forever home should be with older kids or no kids. She does get a bit anxious with lots of kids coming and going. She also enjoys the company of other dogs but we don't believe she needs another dog in the home to be happy. She is even good with the foster family iguana! She is house trained and loves to go on walks. Buffy has also learned to play with toys- something that takes our street dogs a while to delvelop. Squeaky toys are her favorite! She would be happiest in a home where her people are home often and a fenced yard. * Adoption Fees:Puppies (under 12 months) - $300+taxDogs (12 months and over) - $250+tax * Home visits and vet checks are required.* If you are interested in meeting one of our pets, please fill out the online adoptionapplication on our website. Meet Wheatley! He is a 1 yr old neutered male Anatolian Shepherd that weighs 60lbs. He came in as a stray on 4/8. He was adopted from the shelter on 2/19, but his owners have decided not to reclaim him. Wheatley is a high-spirited pup, with plenty of puppy-like energy! He always has a smile on his face and is happy to greet his human companions! He walks ok on a leash. He can become excited at times and may try to jump just to be close, asking for a pet or most importantly wanting to give you a kiss. He will need some additional training to let him know he can receive plenty without jumping. Wheatley knows the sit and paw command too! He is a very handsome boy that loves to run through the shelter yard to investigate. He will chase balls and play with squeaky toys sometimes. He would love to find his own active loving family that could take him on jogs or hiking. Wheatley has been well cared for and will need to have a secured backyard to play in, but most importantly he is an indoor dog. After an exciting day of going for a walk/play he will enjoy taking long naps on his dog bed inside or cuddling close to his family members. Tho Wheatley has lived with another dog, we do always ask if you have a dog in your home please ask the shelter for a dog test to ensure your pup would be compatible. This fun and smart pup deserves another chance at finding a home where his people will stay committed to him and give him the TLC he wants and needs.

Naomi and her four puppies came to TGPR scared and in need of a lot of TLC. Naomi stayed at a wonderful boarding facility where a kind trainer helped her with socialization and she then moved on to a foster home where she is doing very well. Naomi absolutely adores her furry foster brothers so it will be a requirement that she goes to a home with at least one other dog. She currently lives with three boy dogs and loves running, wrestling, and laying together with them. She has met many other dogs and always does fantastic with making new friends. Naomi has met her foster family’s cats as well as a friendly neighborhood kitty and doesn’t mind them at all. She has been around children and with instruction to approach slowly and calmly, she has done very well with them. She enjoys taking walks and moseying along while taking in the scenery and has discovered that splashing in water is one of her favorite activities! Noami is an independent gal and is more interested in hanging out with her dog pals than her humans. She’s still a bit shy and is not your typical cuddly dog. However, she does show love and appreciation to her foster family by excitedly greeting them and giving them licks on their hands. She's happy to have a comfy spot to sleep on, some bones to chew on, and is thrilled when she receives treats! She's honestly pretty easy to have around because she doesn't demand attention. This gorgeous girl is going to make a delightful addition to someone’s family! Naomi was born in February of 2015 and is being fostered in Midland, TX.
