FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! 10 Months later Sadie is still without a home. Sadie - Cattle Dog Mix, Spayed, Microchipped, On flea and Heartworm preventative, Current on Vaccinations. Approximately 4-5 years of age. Sadie may not be the perfect dog, but she can be the perfect dog for somebody. She should be the only pet. She loves being outside, and being with her people that she trusts. If you are willing to give her the time to earn your trust, then you have a best friend for life. We don't know everything that happened in her four or five years before she came to SNAP, she is not aggressive towards people, but is fearful. She acts tough with her barks, but it is all based on fear. Volunteers that meet her can not touch her in the beginning, but after a week or so of Sadie seeing them everyday and getting her walks from them, she learns to trust them and she then loves all the attention she can get. Favorite things to do is play fetch, running in circles, and she is getting better with car rides! It will take a special person, for a special dog! Story
I AM CURRENTLY PARTICIPATING IN A PROGRAM AS A LEARNING ASSISTANT AND WILL RETURN TO THE SHELTER ON 11/21/23.Howdy! My name is Buster! I`m about 5 years old, weigh about 35lb, and I`m a Cattle Dog Mix!I came to MCAC as a stray, and unfortunately my family never came for. So I am looking for a new furever home, and hopefully that`s you!I`m a very friendly and active boy! I would love an active family that would love to take me for long walks! I would also love a fenced in backyard that I can run around in and explore! I also LOVE playing with toys!I know sit, but I`m willing to learn more tricks and commands!I would do best in a home with older kids. I also haven`t been around cats, but because of my breed and our herding tendencies, cats and small animals would probably not be a good match with me. I would need to go into a home that is very active because I have a lot of energy and due to my breed, I need things to do! A big fence in yard would be great! I get along with calmer dogs, if you have one I`d love to meet them to see if we`re a good match.I`m up to date on my vaccines, just make sure you take me to my new veterinarian within 2 weeks of my adoption to make sure that I stay healthy and keep on a regular vaccination schedule. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. To help speed up the application process, it is recommended that you complete the online application form found at the link below.https://animalcontrol.macombgov.org/AnimalControl-AdoptionApplicationMy adoption fee is $50.

Story
This pretty girl, with the striking brindle coat, is "Cammie". She is a mixed breed with an unknown origin as she was pulled from a shelter where she was facing euthanasia due to lack of space :/ Our best guess is maybe an Australian Shepherd/Plot Hound mix. Cammie is approximately 2 years old and 40lbs. Cammie is dog friendly and would love a doggy companion. But she can sometimes play a little rough so her companion dog would need to be ok with that. Cammie likes other dogs so much, that she will jump a chain link fence to go visit them. For that reason her adopter should have a privacy fenced yard or an electric fence to keep her contained. Cammie is crate trained and has had no accidents in her foster home. She is a playful girl with an affectionate and snuggly side. Cammie listens ok when you are one on one. But if another dog is around, she sometimes has "selective hearing" - lol. Like any new, young dog, Cammie's adopter would need to be willing to put in some time into additional training on obedience and manners. She is a quick learner and has already mastered "sit" and "come" in her foster home. Cammie is an active girl and would do best in an active home where time can be spent playing with her and walking her. If you think Cammie could be a match for you, please do not hesitate to send an inquiry with questions or to request an application today! Cammie is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped.

Story
Very energetic loving dog. Experience with herding breeds is best. Probably best in one dog home. For the most part is house broken but has separation anxiety so will mess in the house if left alone too long. Has been crated but has escaped the crates. My lifestyle has changed and she is alone a lot more due to my one of my kids being away at college and the other being grown and not home much. I work more hours now and don’t have the time to give her all of the attention she deserves. She would do best on a farm where she could run. She is an adapt climber and can jump or scale most fences. She’s gotten out a few times but always stays close to home. She is smart and active loves to run and play. She would be great as a running buddy. I am looking for a home where someone is there most of the time and can provide the amount of exercise she needs. If I can’t find the right fit I will keep her. Thank you in advance for your interest.
