Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.   Meet Ellie, a pretty 4 month-old Cattledog mix pup with interesting markings and a sweet disposition. She was found as a stray in a rural area and brought to the local county shelter. When she wasn’t claimed there, she made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would be able to enjoy life in a foster home while searching for a permanent new home. Ellie was very frightened at the shelter but the staff reported that she was very eager to trust people and thought she would do best with a rescue rather than in the shelter. Ellie may be a little shy initially in new situations but she warms up quickly once she knows someone wants to be her friend. She gets along well with other dogs and having a canine buddy in her new home would help to boost her confidence when exposed to new things. Ellie has been working on crate-training in her foster home and doing well with that. With some patient and consistent direction on the part of her new family, she is sure to catch on to the house rules in her new home. She is learning what a leash is all about and is eager to learn lots of new things from her new family. Ellie weighs about 21 pounds currently and we expect she’ll be in the 40-45 pound range once she’s full-grown. Her adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children less than 7 years of age. This pup should mature around 35-40 pounds at maturity. This pup has been socialized since birth by a foster family with a house full of kids! This pup is great with other dogs and cats. We have started crate training and potty training. This pup will go to the new home current on vaccines, deworming, started on heartworm prevention and current on flea prevention and microchipped. The pup will receive a certificate of health prior to leaving. The adopter will get all health records with adoption. We require an adoption application to adopt.
