Story
Rusty is a sweet five year old Kelpie mix that had a rough start in life.  He was kept as an “outside” dog, and he never received any of the attention that he so desperately craved.  Every time someone came outside, he would get so excited that he would jump on them and quickly was labeled as a bad dog.  He was surrendered to his foster family in November 2019, and is absolutely loving life indoors at his foster home.  With a little training his jumping has already gotten much better, and it seems like Rusty would excel doing agility.  He absolutely loves to play ball and fetch.  Rusty is doing well with his playful foster siblings, TMHPR alums Ruby and Jackie, and he also has a one year old little boy to keep him on his toes (and his tummy full).  Rusty is getting very attached to his “people” and would do well in a home with another playful/confident dog and older kids.  He likes to play hard, so little kids and cats are probably a no-go for him.  He would prefer an owner who is home more often than not, but he does know how to use a dog door and is quickly learning to potty outside only.  Right now, Rusty is home for about 4-5 hours at a time and has not been destructive nor has he shown any signs of separation anxiety.  Because of Rusty’s background, he is a little nervous around strangers and proper introductions should be made. Story
Zoey is looking for her new home! She does need an experienced owner, as she has a few quirks. One major quirk is that when introducing her to new dogs she acts aggressive at first but if the other dog is friendly with her she won’t have a problem. She is about 3 years old, spayed and house trained. She’s a quiet dog unless someone knocks on the door. She does great with kids of all ages, and older dogs (not a fan of puppies due to bad experience). She’s mostly a couch potato who just wants to sleep and cuddle all day but can be active and go for runs and such. I adopted her from a shelter about 2 years ago but due to unforeseen circumstances I need to find a better home for her. Someone with plenty of time to spend with her. She old weighs around 45-50 lbs of muscle. Very athletic and definitely a people person. She is not trained for anything special but know basic tricks. She’s accustomed to livestock and tries to play with them. All around she’s a great family dog.

Story
Dakota is a bundle of energy and 9 months old now. Although she is good with other dogs, she tends to overdo play time with them. She is house broken, but I cage her when left unsupervised because she is still an active chewer. She is fearless making her seem like a bigger dog, but enough exercise and positive reinforcement is key to reigning her in. She is very smart and at the age that training will be the most impactful. She has mostly been indoors but loves to run, be outside, and would likely do well herding if on a farm. She also enjoys trips in the car with you rather than staying at home alone. She is the center of attention when taken to dog friendly places and good with children or multiple people petting her. She loves water and will swim or play in it, which means taking a bath and staying clean is not difficult for her. She is a cutie pie. I’m unable to continue caring for her along with her 3 siblings that I rescued together 7 months ago.

Story
Howdy! My name is Annie, I’m a two year old, 40 lb Australian Kelpie mix. Humane Tomorrow saved me from doggie jail, and let me tell ya, I am so ready for a new home! I am 100% herd dog, give me a job to do, it will be my upmost priority to make you proud. I’m not too shabby on a leash either, run or walk, I like to go. I am a very happy pup, I love to smile, it should be obvious from my demeanor that you are my world. You know that look, the squinty eyes, sheepish grin, ears back, and a little wiggle and whine to top it off, that’s me. I get along with other dogs okay, but my person is where I’m most happy. I would say most other animals are things that need to be herded…um…somewhere. Toys are curious, I haven’t quite got the hang of them, but I’m getting there. Surprisingly I am very comfortable in my crate, but don’t be fooled, no lazy mutts here. Yes, I have lots of energy, but I just need the right someone to take me on lots of walks or maybe a place with lots of space to just do my thing. Treats are satisfying, but really, I want your attention more than anything in world, just a pet or two…or three.

Sailor is a great dog. Approximately 1 year old, weighing about 30 lbs. He is high energy and loves to run and play. He gets along well with other dogs but also loves to chase our cows. He was easily house broken but sometimes gets bored and chews up things. He is a very smart dog and will be a great companion for someone who has time to work with him.

Story
Lucky was about 3 months old when we adopted her at pet smart. She's a happy puppy. She Loves attention and snuggles. She loves going for walks/runs. Our children made promises to care for her under our direction, but have fought us on this. We don't have the time to properly train and exercise her, and fear it's a disservice to keep her. She's fairly obedient to certain things and has a xxxx@xxxx.x we haven't been consistent enough to really train her. She has primarily been kept outside. Lucky needs a family who can give her attention and exercise.

Story
You may notice that I got carried away with photos of Vena. She is very photogenic. She captured my heart, and I wanted to show her off! She is an approximately four-year-old 48 pound Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Kelpie mix that was brought in by one of our officers as a stray on 4/11. For the life of me, I can't imagine why her owners haven't come looking for her. She's a nice-looking gal with a sleek black coat and pointed ears. It looks like she's been well taken care of. I'm told when she first came into the shelter she was extremely shy. She's coming out of her shell but she still is laid-back and a little on the cautious side. There's no doubt she's looking for love and has a lot of love to give her new family. At first, she explored the yard and even at one point frolicked, but she mostly stayed close to me. When I stood by the wall, she stood up right next to me leaning on me. When I sat down, she immediately came to me and put her head on my lap. She sits for treats and takes them gently. She did not have a strong pull on the leash, but did jump on me several times when we were walking for reassurance. She did her business when she got out into the yard. She sniffed other dogs, but jumped back when one barked at her. She's very attentive, somewhat playful, very well mannered, sweet, friendly, and very affectionate! She would do best with an easy-going family that would take her for walks, but would let her be an integral part of the family by keeping her in the house most of the time. She deserves the best because she is the best!

Story
Jackson is a very loving dog. He is about a year and 6 months old. He allows our kids to hug him, he loves getting petted, he can sit, stay, and lay down. He is timid in new environments but once he warms up he is much more comfortable. He is very playful. He enjoys having his ears rubbed. He is great with my 4 year old and 9 year old. He gets along great with other dogs. He is house trained and crate trained. We are only getting rid of him because we are desperate to move and the only home we were approved for does not allow pets. I will include his crate and any food he has remaining.
