Story
This nice-looking guy is Bob! Bob is an Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix who’s looking for a new home or a foster. He’s 5-years-old, neutered, and up-to-date on shots. Bob weighs about 60 pounds. He’s sweet and gentle, but sometimes he forgets how big he is! Bob gets along with children, but due to his size older children might be best. Bob should be an only dog – he likes to play with most other dogs and then have the house to himself! Does Bob sound like a good match for your family?  If you'd like to meet Bob, please contact info@nebraskanokill.org, or to fill out an application form, go to nebraskanokill.org. Suggested adoption donation: $250.00

Story
Choosing to place Quinn is one of the hardest things I've ever done. I had to move in with my sister. I had three dogs and she had three dogs. Unfortunately, the city says we can only keep three. Quinn is a retired obedience competition dog. He loves nothing more than joining you on the couch for a "Murder, She Wrote" marathon. He has a bit of a sensitive stomach so he eats salmon and sweet potato food. He'd enjoy going for a walk but it's not necessary. He loves to learn tricks and to train a little bit every day. He was born on July 3, 2006, so he's almost 14 years of age. His breeder gave him and his brother to a trucker who asked a friend of his to place them. One of the boys went to a friend and died about 4 years ago. Quinn has been with us ever since he was a pup. I think Quinn would do very well as a companion to an older adult or couple. He can be a barker when someone comes to the door but he's not at all aggressive. He's crate-trained, house-trained, and a happy boy.

Story
Bevo is an energetic dog that loves his dog brother Rocco. He is 3 years old and loves people and cuddles. Bevo needs a home that has lots of room for him to run around and play with dog toys. I would recommend a home with no kids.

Story
Meet Mazie JuM Name: My name is Mazie, short for Amazing. Amazing that I am still alive after scrounging for food trying to stay out of the way of meanies while living as a stray in a local neighborhood. *womp womp Debbie Downer alert* Favorite Food: Pizza crust. Tortilla with bean essence and a French fry that touched a hamburger patty but also touched the pavement. Look guys, I am not a foodie yet, I am just now adjusting to being taken care of. At a later date, I plan to have a favorite food. P.S. It won’t be sushi, I want my stuff cooked, now that I am fancy. Age/Weight/Breed: I am about 1.5 years old and weigh 40 lbs. They had me labeled the ever so pupular “Lab” mix, but think I am mixed with something smaller and cute like a Collie or Australian Shepherd. Favorite Song: Girl by Maren Morris. Temperament: Look guys, I was living on my own for a while and lemme tell ya something, not all humans are nice and it was wise that I practiced avoidance when I could. I am gaining weight and confidence, and I must say the weight was much easier to gain, from 31 pounds up to 40 pounds. I am shy at first, but really sweet once you can be trusted. What The Volunteer Has to Say About Her: Mazie would do best in a quiet non busy home setting since she is shy. Even better would be a laid back and confident buddy in the home that can show her how to act. She's great with other dogs and with patience warms up to people. Leash and crate trained. To see her blossom in a loving home will be such a joy.

Story
Kojak is a very smart, cuddly Red Heeler, Boxer mix. He was born on October 23, 2013 and is going to be 7. I received Kojak at 8 weeks old from his owners who lived across the street from me. His parents were always well behaved. He loves being active, especially playing with his frisbee, and he's a very good listener. He knows how to shake and roll over like a pro. Loves people and is amazing in public and around other animals at the vet or on the walking trail. He doesn't have accidents in the house ever and became house broken 2 weeks after I had gotten him. He is a quick learner and wants to please you and love you. I would like to find someone who can love Kojak just as whole heartedly as he will love you and doesn't have any other dogs or small pets at home. He would be perfect for someone who enjoys being active and takes him on daily walks. There are plenty of kisses to go around in Kojak's book!

Story
Sweet, sweet Eli is a 6 year old Australian Sheperd Mix. Eli has been with High Plains P.A.W. longer than most dogs in our foster program but that is simply because the perfect fit just hasn't come along yet, it is coming though, we can feel it! Eli is looking for a patient home that understands that we all have our own quirks and Eli's quirks are related to having his collar touched and meeting new people. He has told us that he really prefers not to have his collar touched, especially by people he doesn't know. Eli has also told us that he prefers a proper, slow introduction to strangers. In other words, he isn't a fan of random people showing up in his backyard or in his house without an introduction. We can't necessarily blame the guy - we aren't fans of strangers lurking around our homes either! Eli is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Eli's current foster is moving in July so Eli needs a new foster before then - if you think you can provide a temporary OR forever home for Eli, please apply today! ##129415##
