Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bandit was picked up as a stray in rural Oklahoma. He appears to have had NO contact with humans before landing in the shelter. We have been working to gain his trust, but he is still very skittish of humans. He gets along really well with other dogs, but tries to keep his distance from humans. He is learning to walk on a leash, and our hope is that with continued practice, he will become more trusting of humans. In the yard, he seems relaxed and happy. Inside the house, he's a little more anxious because of the close proximity of humans. He seems to appreciate having a wire crate with comfy bed that he can retreat to when he thinks the humans are getting a little too close. Ironically though, he really seems to enjoy it when his foster family pets him -- he just soaks it up as though making up for lost time. We feel sure that Bandit will come around, but it will take a very patient, gentle adopter. In our experience with dogs like this, young children can sometimes be very good with dogs like Bandit, because the dog will usually trust the child more than he will trust an adult. Bandit has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, so he is ready to find a forever home. If you are ready to commit to spending at least 3 months earning Bandit's trust, please visit our website to learn more about our adoption process and complete an application: https://www.bluebonnetrescue.org/info/adoption  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

A family friend drop her off for me to keep because tey where renting and the landlord didn't like her digging that was 6 months ago. ADDY is only 1.5 years old and very playful and loves attention, I wouldn't be trying to rehome her if she wasn't a nuisance to the elderly neighbor couple I am afraid she is going to knock one of them down she has no manners and likes to Chew stuff up. she is just more than I have time for and she deserves more It is sad because I have room for her just not the time.

Story
Sammy is an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. He is approximately 1 year old and weighs 69 pounds. He was found running on a highway and was scared to death. A lovely couple picked him up and had his shots done. Sammy is neutered and would do better with a family with no children. He loves to play with other dogs and has lots of energy to run and play. He is a great medium sized dog and has a gorgeous coat and beautiful eyes. In concern for families with small children, we will not adopt a dog to a home with any child under the age of 5. Story
Meet Trumpet! Trumpet is a male Australian Shepherd mix who is one years old and 33 lbs. Trumpet is very intelligent with high energy. He would do well with a family who can exercise him daily and would be a great companion for outdoor activities. He is house/bell and crate trained, and knows basic commands: sit, down, leave it, come, and stay.  Trumpet is not a suitable match for someone in an apartment or with children under the age of 14 due to his natural herding tendencies. He is wonderful with other large dogs, but tends to chase cats.  If you are interested in meeting Trumpet to see if he belongs at your place, please complete an application on our website and his foster mom will be in touch. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/               We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
