Story
I am a sweet little old man that likes a lot of human attention. I follow my Mom around most of the day, talking to her. I'm not much of a cuddler and prefer to be in my own bed, either by myself or with one of IG siblings. Sometimes I even go off into a quiet room to get away from the craziness of my family. I'm active during the morning but spend the rest of the day and evening sleeping a lot. There are times that I join in with play time with the other dogs and start barking and try to run around. Since I'm a senior citizen, it is difficult for me to get around and I can't do stairs. I take a while to walk from one point to another so don't expect to hurry me, I'll get there on my own time.

Richard is such a sweet, happy, loving dog! He is always happy when it is time for dinner. He loves to snuggle and sleep and be told he is handsome. He also loves to tan outside on a sunny day. He will do well in a calm, quiet household with human and canine companionship.

Story
My name is: Blue Jay Age (estimated DOB): 12-2008 Primary Color: Blue Fawn (Tan with Gray undertones) Weight: 18 Gender: Male Location (City, State): Houston, TX My adoption readiness status: I am available for adoption My optimal Adoptive Home: Low Energy/Activity Moderate Energy/Activity Has a Canine Companion Has an Italian Greyhound Companion Has someone that is home mostly during the day Has someone that can come home at lunch and let me out to potty Is okay with a dog in their lap quite frequently Must have a securely fenced in yard (not an available dog park area) I Do Well With: Children under 12 yes Children over 12 yes Cats unknown Other small dogs yes Medium or Large Dogs yes Apartment Homes maybe At night, I prefer to sleep in: My kennel My human's bed Walking on a leash I do fine on a leash for trips to the vet or other outings, but I don't particularly care for long walks Crate training-please note that we teach crating as a 'safe happy personal space' where the IG can rest/sleep when confinement is necessary. Crates should NEVER be used as a punishment or 'time out' space. I do just fine being in my crate for reasonable amounts of time. Italian Greyhounds are known for housebreaking issues and most will have occasional accidents. Many come to us as surrenders due to excessive potty accidents indoors. This is typically the result of poor potty routines within the previous home so we do typically get them on track fairly quickly. As an IG parent you must be willing to commit to a structured and reasonable routine to keep your iggy from having excessive indoor accidents. My house-training Status is: Occasional accidents accidents are only when I'm left alone A little more about me and my personality: Blue's favorite thing to do is snuggle under blankets – he can even maneuver a blanket so that there is no opening as he gets it all underneath him – it’s amazing to watch. You have to be careful – if he snuggles up next to you on the couch, you are likely to be lulled into a nap by his warm little snuggly self. Blue is a very happy boy and is happiest when he has people and other dogs around. He is scared of loud noises, but I don't blame him since he can't see if he's in danger or not by the noise. Blue is very brave and adaptable - he got used to our house in no time and gets around perfectly fine. If I have a known medical issue or am taking any medications, they are listed here: Blue is 100% blind in both eyes and has glaucoma in one eye. He gets 1 drop in that eye twice daily (at meal time). Blue has a history of hemangiomas, which were all recently removed and he has recovered nicely.

Story
I do fine on a leash for trips to the vet or other outings, but I don't particularly care for long walks. consider the crate my safe space and don't mind being in there at all for reasonable amounts of time. If the door is left open, I will put myself inside to rest. I know how to use a supervised dog door when the humans are home. love to give kisses and when I get excited I can't stop jumping❤ I have never been separated from my mom, Noelle, and must be able to stay with her. She is a beautiful Italian Greyhound and is 14 years old.

Story
Wallace has made a lot of progress since he entered rescue, but there is still work to do. He loves his foster mom and will follow her around the house asking for attention and wanting to be petted. He isn't afraid of his foster dad, but doesn't go to him for attention. He is scared of the two children in the home and will stay in his crate when they are around. As soon as they leave for school, Wallace starts whining to come out so that he can follow his foster mom around. Wallace enjoys going out in the backyard on warm days, but only if his foster mom goes out with him. He quickly discovered that human food is much tastier than dog food, and when his foster mom is eating at the table, he will come over and put his feet on her leg or arm and beg for little bits of food. Although he doesn't really understand how to interact with other dogs, he finds comfort in the other dogs in his foster home and will follow them around and copy their behavior. Wallace is slowly coming out of his shell and learning how great it is to be a pet!

Story
I don't walk very fast and I prefer my walks around a yard. My eyes just aren't what they used to be. I consider the crate my safe space and don't mind being in there at all for reasonable amounts of time. If the door is left open, I will put myself inside to rest. I know how to use designated potty pads indoors. I take a little more time because I don't have any teeth and my food must be prepared. I don't see very well nor can I hear most sounds. I have a great personality and love to lay in the sun. Please don't separate me from my son Nicholas. I don't see or hear very well, but with a little help I do just fine. I take more time but am well worth it!!❤
