Story
Koda is a Sheep-a-Doodle (Old English Sheepdog/Standard Poodle mix) with a birthdate of approximately January, 2015. This big teddy bear loves everyone, including children, cats, other dogs, and even strangers. He barks and gets very excited when his owners return home and when visitors arrive, but he TRIES hard to keep all four feet on the ground at those times. There have been occasions when Koda has aggressively nipped when someone tried to retrieve something he shouldn’t have; and he is also very possessive of his toys. However, his current owners believe this can be overcome if Koda has additional attention and training. Like a teenager, Koda has stubborn streaks, but the stubbornness can be overcome with patience and treats.
Koda has a BIG personality and is lots of fun. He loves being active and requires lots of ways to use his energy. He enjoys being outside, going for walks, and enthusiastically plays fetch and tug-of-war. When inside, he is content to be near his people. Koda is crate-trained and house trained, and he already knows several commands. The perfect home for Koda must have a fenced yard and an owner who will provide a structured environment and lots of time and energy devoted to Koda.
Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that a dog is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions.
The suggested adoption donation for Koda is $350. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.
Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
