Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) provides professional, sustainable, cost-effective services that protect people and animals in our region. Our organization is built on the cornerstone values of compassion and service. We demonstrate this commitment in the countless hours spent by staff and our RASKC volunteers to save animals' lives at our shelters and in the field. By collaborating with community partners, we are able to expand our programs and resources to provide even greater value to our residents.
We provide service to 24 contracting cities and all unincorporated areas of King County. More than one million people live in our service area, which covers more than 1,100 square miles. We find new homes for thousands of pets every year, and return hundreds more stray pets to their owners.
More than 100,000 cats and dogs are licensed with RASKC every year. License fees help pay for the life-saving work that RASKC performs. Along with selling licenses at our two Pet Adoption Centers and adoption partner locations, RASKC works with more than 450 other partners, including local city halls, licensing agencies, pet stores, veterinary clinics, animal shelters, and grocery stores. These partners help RASKC by selling pet licenses and distributing information and applications in locations conveniently accessible to our residents throughout King County.
RASKC also partners with other organizations in the animal welfare community, collaborating on programs and events throughout the year including pet adoption events, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, and much more.
