The Lander Pet Connection, Inc., is a non-profit organization incorporated with the State of Wyoming. It was formed by a group of concerned people who care about the welfare of all companion animals.
With the help of other animal lovers throughout Fremont
County:
We have rescued and placed hundreds of dogs and
cats in loving homes. Some of our rescued pets have
been abandoned by their owners, some have been
found wandering alone in remote areas, and some
have actually been stuffed into dumpsters and
dumped at the local landfill.
We work with the city pound, evaluating, socializing
and training impounded and unwanted animals.
We pay for a vet exam, shots, spaying/neutering, and
food and other expenses.
We maintain a telephone hotline and keep a list of
people who want to adopt pets, and put them in touch
with owners who want to give-up their pets.
We provide counseling for owners with dogs having
behavior-related problems
We advertise animals available for adoption on the
radio, in the local newspaper, and on our website.
We initiated a low cost spay/neuter program with the
cooperation of the local veterinarians. This program is
limited due to a lack of funds, but it is a good start on
coping with the pet over-population problem.

Additional adoption info
If you're thinking about adopting a pet and this is your first stop, click on the "Adopt Me" link to discover what dogs and cats are available for adoption. Pets are adopted and new ones arrive daily so call 307-330-5200 to find out about new ones.
You'll notice that most of the pets are being boarded by the Pet Connection at Feisty Fido. This boarding facility is easy to find. Heading east out of town on Main Street, Feisty Fido is at the corner of Mortimore Lane. You can stop by any weekday from 9:00 to 5:00, Saturdays from 10:30 - 2:30 or call for an appointment (332-2420). It's always a good idea to call first because some pets may already be adopted and new ones may have arrived.
A few pets are in foster care. If that's the case, we'll let you know when you call 330-5200 to ask about the pet.
The Pet Connection's Adoption Application is now online. Go to www.landerpets.com to fill it out. If you're considering adopting a pet, it's a great idea to take a look at the application and complete it at your convenience. You can even be pre-approved as a new pet owner so when you find just the right dog or cat
for your family, you needn't wait.
Email the application to adoptions@landerpets.org
or leave the application with Feisty Fido. They'll see that it gets to a board member. You should hear from us within a few days.
You'll notice that the application is long but please don't get discouraged. We just want to know as much about you as possible to be sure you and your new pet are a good match for one another.
The adoption fee is $65.00 for a dog and $35.00 for a cat. This includes whatever shots are needed and a spay or neuter. Because a part of our mission is reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned pets, we always require this procedure.
For more information call the Pet Connection at 330-5200.
