The Pet Connection

Animal rescue in Olathe, KS

The Pet Connection, Inc. is a no-kill, non-profit animal shelter located in the Kansas City metro area. It's our intention to form a no-kill coalition
by educating the public, providing pet owner services and to find homes for unwanted and abandoned animals.
The core of our operation is not only an adoption and obedience center but the nerve center for all of our outreach and community education programs. Follow-up phone calls after adoptions, homeless pet intakes, networking and educational programs are just a few of our ongoing services. There are rents and salaries to pay as well as normal day to day costs of maintaining the shelter.

We are currently raising funds in hopes of expanding the following programs:

•Support to other rescues and individuals
•Community Education
•Feral cat colonies

The Pet Connection offers MORE with every adoption making your experience more economical and enjoyable.

•Pre-adoption veterinarian examination
•Neutered pet
•Cats tested for FeLV/FIV
•Dogs tested for heartworm/ehrlichia/lyme
•Cats vaccinated for FVRCP & rabies
•Dogs vaccinated for DA2PPC & rabies
•All pets are microchipped prior to going home
•All pets treated for fleas and worms
•Dentals or other medical needing completed
•Temperament screening


While the pet is in our program we start getting to know them better. The cats are taught to use a scratching post. Dogs are taught to sit, come, stay, and go. We housebreak the animals while they are in our program and start training them to walk on a leash.

Adopters receive:
•Inexpensive membership fees to assist us with our programs
•Post-adoption veterinarian examination
•Reduced cost veterinarian care for 60 days
•Free training and behavioral consultations for life of the pet
•Support services for the pet if it becomes lost or stolen
•Professional staff
