6dogrees Rescue was founded in 2008. We are a very small scale "grassroots" rescue. We focus on rescuing euthanasia dogs. 6dogrees Rescue dogs are housed in foster homes, we are not a shelter. Our rescue theory is to run a sustainable rescue with adoption fees covering the vet costs and expenses to save these dogs. A adoption concept that will in return save 1-2 more lives. A portion of the adoption fee will going to the vet bill. If we have a emergency or very sick dogs the adoption fee does not cover the costs.Rescuing dogs out of high kill shelters is expensive.Vet bills are the highest costs in dog rescue. Therefore we accept sponsorship or donations to help us with the costs. Any amount helps save lives. 6 dogrees Rescue is a passionate rescue we are a small rescue and choose to remain to be a small rescue. 6 dogrees feels by remaining small we can assist adopters with any resources they may need to to ensure a successful adoption and a forever home.
All of the dog we rescue are fully vetted and micro-chipped heart worm negative and have a health certificate. The primary focus was to educate about the importance of spay and neutering pets.I continue to encourage adopting over buying. The main focus is to expose, and help the deathrow dogs in high kill shelters. These animals deserve a second chance at life. 6 dogrees mission is to help save dogs slated for euthanasia due to no fault of their own and re-home them into forever homes.
The euthanasia rate of good dogs is staggering. 4-5 million dogs are euthanized in U.S. shelter systems every year. We all cringe and hurry to turn the channel when the heart wrenching Sara McLachlan commercial comes on tv. Why? No one wants to see sad, suffering, abused animals. The sad reality is there are many and if we all choose to “turn off” the problem then who will be their voice? I choose to be a "voice" to make a difference. I am not Bob Barker or Sara McLachlan by any means, but their messages got through to me. I "choose" to be involved and be the voice for the animals that need us. Help us promote adoptions over buying from back yard breeders, share in conversation with friends and family about shelter and rescue animals needing adoption.Explain the benefits of spay or neuter. Everyone can do something to aid in the issue of the pet over population issue. If we all are pro-active for the animals the need for shelters will diminish.
I network all rescue animals. My main focus is on deathrow dogs. It takes a small army of rescue networking to help get dogs to safety. Encourage adoption over “buying” a dog. My life is blessed with 5 dogs and 2 cats. I have been an animal lover all of my life. I enjoy connecting the right dog with the right person. I aim to be a voice for abused, homeless, and chained, animals in need. Abused and neglected animals do not choose where they live in the world, therefore I do not limit my work for animals to just my state. When it comes to saving lives there are no limitations.

Fill out the adoption contract and application and return by email to gokargirl@hotmail.com for processing.
Adoption fees apply to all of our dogs.
Fees cover the costs to save the dog.100% of the adoption fees are used for vetting and care of the dogs.
We make sure each dog that comes into our rescue is current on vaccines and spayed/neutered before the dog is adopted out. All required vaccinations are provided.
They are all DA2PP shots, rabies, bordetella, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped and groomed.
Because we specialize in Death Row Dogs, many of them require special medical attention.
Some dogs require surgeries including expensive orthopedic surgeries, dental work, teeth extractions, cherry eye, heart worm testing, various routine medications like flea treatments and de-worming medicines, specialized medications to get them healthy for adoption like ear, eye, antibiotic, and medications and other veterinary services.
Some of our dogs require emergency care at the 24 hr vet clinics and that is very costly. If we are lucky enough to have no costs we recycle the entire adoption fee back into rescuing another deathrow dog.
