Soi Dog Foundation is a not-for-profit, legally registered charitable organization in Thailand, the United States, Australia, the UK, France and Holland. Soi Dog helps the homeless, neglected and abused dogs and cats of Thailand, works to end the dog meat trade throughout the region, and responds to animal welfare disasters and emergencies. We aim to set an example for the Asian region on how to humanely reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats through spaying and neutering, and to better the lives and living conditions of the stray dogs and feral cats of Asia.
Soi Dog works to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Thailand, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to end animal cruelty, and to ultimately create a society without homeless animals.
Soi Dog Canada has been operating in Canada since 2012. Soi Dog Canada has two charitable purposes and two corresponding streams of activities that it undertakes.
Purpose 1- to promote the welfare of dogs and cats for the benefit of the public by rescuing stray, abandoned, abused or surrendered animals and providing them with shelter/foster homes, food, and medical care, and by facilitating an animal adoption program for these animals.
We find permanent homes for rescued and homeless dogs and cats, providing guidance and support for the adopters, and follow up work including emergency help. Soi Dog Canada helps many dogs and cats in Canada find safe, loving, and permanent homes.
Purpose 2- to promote the welfare of animals for the benefit of the public by running education and awareness programs on animal welfare in Canada and internationally.

Soi Dog has the perfect pet for you, whether you're looking for a puppy or a mature animal. We always have more than 200 rescued dogs and cats of all sizes who hope you will give them a good home. Thai dogs make extremely loyal and loving pets, particularly dogs saved from tough lives on the streets and from the illegal dog meat trade, who seem to understand they've been given a second chance.
Thank you for considering saving the life of a dog in need. There are two ways to get your dog to you: travelling by cargo or with a passenger (a flight volunteer) as their extra baggage. We take care of all the documents, flights, and other arrangements - you only need to go to an international airport to meet your new best friend. Our adoptions staff will walk you through the process.
Please note that Soi Dog charges no adoption fee, but adopters are responsible for all the necessary travel costs for the dog to travel to its new home. The travel costs range from approx. $400-$600 if the dog can be sent with a flight volunteer (more if the dog is sent over by cargo). Sterilization, vaccinations, microchipping, the pet passport and the travel kennel are all covered in the costs.
