Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
NEW ADOPTION PROCESS: Please fill in the Dog Lifestyle Survey found on the How to Adopt page on www.calgaryhumane.ca (please include my name and animal reference number) and e-mail it to adopt@calgaryhumane.ca if you are interested in adopting me! Serious inquiries only.
Hiiiii, my name is Sky! I'm a super active girl looking for a winter workout buddy that is interested in morning (or evening!) runs. Fetch and playtime are two of my favourite things so I'd love a big yard that I can run around in and play with my human! The behaviour team here at CHS is taking me to agility classes to keep me entertained and it's something that is starting to pique my interest. To be honest, I am more of a ‘people pooch', so I would prefer to be the only animal in the home. Don't worry though, I've got more than enough love to give to my adult humans once I have a chance to get to know you! Because I am a little bit shy of new people and situations, I would do best in an adult-only home. Do you know much about my breed? I am searching for a family who has breed knowledge and plenty of experience to help me work on my confidence and intros to new people. Off-leash parks are off-limits to me, so a fenced backyard is a must! Because I have unique quirks that make the kind of home I'm looking for very special, I am available as a 'managed adoption'.

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
