Story
Burt is about 8 years old and blind and deaf. TOTALLY BLIND and mostly deaf. He has only one eye. But he doesn’t care one bit. He wags his tail 24/7. He is the happiest dog on the planet. He is SUPER affectionate and good with other dogs as well as cats and people. Loves to sleep in the bed with us, but will also curl up on the couch and sleep at night, as long as he has something soft, he is happy. Burt is not at all high energy, but has plenty of spunk for outdoor adventures. He LOVES being outdoors and rolling in the grass. He will need a fenced in yard in his new home, or someone willing to take him on plenty of outdoor adventures Burt does sleep a lot and is an absolute delight to be around. He is extremely affectionate!! Burt is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and kept on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Tennessee, but we will transport him to locations near DC, NY and the New England states. Please email us at brighthopeadoptions@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Stewie, aka “Mr. Smiley” is a lovable, intelligent, energetic and loyal 45 lb beagle/foxhound mix whose eagerness to please will melt your heart! At 18 months old, Stewart (His full name is Stewart, but his loving foster says he is a Stewie) still has plenty of puppy charm and is up for anything, but is also mature enough to be able to focus and learn. He particularly loves to wrestle, run, and play fetch and tug-of-war with his canine companions. He likes walks in the woods, rides in the car and has just discovered the joys of a swim in the lake with his humans. When he’s finished playing, he settles easily and will sit by your side, sleep at your feet, or snuggle on the couch next to you. Clever Stewie loves to use his mind –- and his nose -- to learn new things. He’s housebroken, sleeps through the night, and is very responsive to training. He already knows many basic commands (come, sit, stay, down, paw) and he learned how to roll over in about five minutes. Teaching him tricks is easy and fun! It’s what he loves best. If you’re looking for a smart and sweet pup to be your best buddy, smiley Stewie is the dog for you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy, and our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Connie is a calm, mellow senior girl in need of a loving home to live out her golden years. She'd make a great companion for someone looking for a low key older girl. Her leash skills need some work - she'd love a leisurely stroll in a wagon versus a leashed walk - this preference is one that makes her so endearing. Connie requires a home in which she'll be the only four legged family member. Her estimated year of birth is 2007 and her weight is around 45 lbs. If you are that special someone that can provide Connie with a warm, cozy, nurturing home, please contact RickyC68@aol.com and please include a phone number where you can be reached.

Story
Sue is currently in foster. If you are interested in adopting, please email adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information!Fill out our dog adoption application online at pawscrossedny.orgThe Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
