Meet Penny & Copper! This perfect pair came to us from a VA shelter where their former family could not properly care for them anymore. Penny arrived needing immediate surgery to remove her eyes due to painful glaucoma, she is also positive for Heartworm so treatment will begin soon! The shelter quickly noticed that Penny and Copper are a very bonded pair. Copper serves as Penny’s eyes, and Penny returns the favor by “mothering” Copper. Their hope was that these two could be rescued together and re-homes together, and that is our hope too! We could not going to leave Copper behind just because he did not have a disability knowing how much he loved his sister. So welcome Copper and Penny to PWD. They are both about 8 years old and 25 lbs. Copper is the energetic one and Penny is more chill. But when it is time to settle you can be certain these two will be cuddled together. We feel positive that we can find that special family that will have enough room in their hearts and home to adopt both of them so they can continue life together.

Pluto is 13 years old but still acts like a puppy at heart. Very very good with children especially small children. Our house is being foreclosed and we have nowhere to take him. I just want someone to take care of him and keep him comfortable until he passes. I don’t want to have to take them to the pound and get put down, he is our family dog. We got him when my oldest daughter was six and she is 18 now. We love him dearly but just can’t take care of them.

Story
Bugle is a sweet and friendly older gentleman who enjoys long leisurely walks, anything food related, and the comfy spot on the couch. He is very quiet and rarely barks, although he snores a little. He is friendly with other dogs and gets along well with both of my dogs. When we meet dogs on our walks he is polite and interested but not overbearing. He pays no attention at all to my cats. He is not aggressive at all to people, although I have not seen him around children. At this time Bugle is not fully house trained, although he is improving, and he is crate trained. He rides well in the car, and usually just curls up and goes to sleep. Bugle is at least partially deaf and something of an escape artist. His new family should either be willing to supervise him outdoors at all times or have a secure fence that he cannot climb. He loves walks, and snuggling, and following me around the house. He is a good-natured dog that would make a good companion for someone looking for an older, quiet, yet still active dog.
