We have a purebred beagle named Samson (not neutered), and a beagle mix named Emma(spaded). My husband rescued both of the dogs. Samson was bought to hunt rabbits. He didn't. The owner was going to put him down. Hubby took him. Emma was out and about. Hubby brought her home and got her fixed and healthy. My husband died in January. My job requires a LOT of travel. That's initially why he took them in "for company". Our son takes them from time to time so I don't have to put them in a kennel when I travel. Samson is so loving it hurts me to see him so sad and lonely. He's honestly a great dog. He even thinks he can talk. When I get up in the morning and watch the news or tell him about a trip he tries and responds to the conversation. It's really quite funny. Emma is independent. She wants a hug in the morning and a hug at night. Other than that she is cool just sitting on her pillow or the couch next too you. she does prefer the backyard to a leash walk.

I may need a kinda special home, as I get anxious when my humans leave me alone, so no apts or condos for me, as I will bark ... Ideally at least one of my humans would be home with me so I’m not alone at all .. I currently follow my foster mom everywhere and need to see or cuddle her all the time. I’m good with other dogs like me who aren't too playful or in my face. I can sit like a meerkat for treats and when I bark, my front paws lift off ground a little; which my foster mom loves💕 hope to hear from my new parents soon... We caught Pixie under the porch of an abandoned house. She is a gorgeous little dog, who loves all people, especially children. Pixie appears to like other dogs, but may prefer calmer ones. This gorgeous girl was left tied up on one of the rescues cars. All that was left with her was a note that she was a stray that showed up while the people were moving and they couldn't keep her. We don't know any more of her back story but it seems as if this girl has been in transition for quite some time. We feel like the best-fit home for Rose Mary might be one that can be a calm oasis for her. No small children, perhaps only one other dog and people who can help her forget all the past and become the loving dog we see in her. She is mostly gentle and wants to please but she takes a bit of time to warm up to you. Instead, they live in a home with property (large yard, woods, farm, etc) where he can run and roam. He comes from hunting stock and doesn't like to be hugged or held. She is fearful of new things and people (especially men) when she first encounters them. She enjoys playing with the dogs in her foster home. Lottie still likes to chew some. She is looking for the right mix of calm and energy from a family who will meet her needs. She would like a female caregiver (she would love a family of just women) who will work with her on her fears and meet her at her comfort level. All family members need to be willing to care for her as this will help her get over her fears. Lottie also needs another dog -friendly dog that will tolerate her oral play (a bit rough at times) and is not a resource guarder. She is also looking a stable home that isn’t too busy with lots people coming and going but also for family that is active enough to take her a daily walks and maybe even run a bit. She does well in her crate even though she is not fond of it. She enjoys most sleeping with her family members at night. Lottie is small girl just under 20 lbs and very agile. She needs a fenced in yard because she loves being outside and another doggie friend. She is currently in a foster home in Ann Arbor and will need multiple meet and greets prior to adoption to make the transition less fearful for her. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification.
