Story
Arlo is looking for his fur-ever home!  Arlo came to us when his owners both had to be hospitalized.  He has been around toddlers and children and is great with him.  He is also great with other dogs.  He does chase cats, but takes correction very well.  He has never shown any signs of aggression to people or animals.  He is a great dog!  Arlo is a runner (due to his breed) and is difficult to recall, so he will either need to be in a home with a fenced in yard, or a family who will always keep him on a leash.  Arlo is about 3-4 years old and is currently about 30lbs.  Arlo is currently in a foster home with kids and a small bichon frise.  He is also crate trained. An approved adoption application is required. The $200 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; and heartworm testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.

We adopted Bubba (Oliver) from a shelter in North Carolina 8 years ago- He stole our hearts with his affection and energy! He has moved with us 5 times since then, he has a sister Annabel ( Jack russell beagle mix) who is his best friend and companion. He loves going for walks and playing frisbee or ball, and he is no doubt food motivated 🥕(carrots are his favorite snack! ) He loves to be around people especially other men. He is a soft, loving, snuggle bug. Children make him a little nervous. He is able to play well with other dogs as long as they are introduced properly. We have enjoyed the dog park many times and have good dog friends. We are looking for a patient loving home for bubba, and someone who enjoys snuggling up with him during a movie and willing to share a snack!
