Story
Howdy! My name is Rocky and I’m a 5-year-old, 90 lb., male Rottweiler. I’m house trained, crate trained, heartworm negative, neutered and up to date on all my vaccinations. I’m also super smart and easy to train. Because I’m a little older, I’m done with all those puppy shenanigans.
I do okay with other dogs, especially larger female or larger laid-back male dogs, but it would be best if my new home had no small dogs or cats. I enjoy being indoors and love sleeping on my comfy dog bed, but my very favorite thing to do is hang outside in the backyard and watch for squirrels in the trees. I could do that all day long!
I’m a playful, silly guy often being called a big goof. I am loving and affectionate and enjoy lots of pets. I don’t realize my own size, so I’m likely to plop onto your lap for a cuddle. Because I don’t realize my own size, it would probably be best if my new home didn’t have small kids. I like people, but they need to be introduced to me properly. I’m a little aloof at first with strangers, but once I learn to trust you, we’ll be friends forever.
I walk well on a leash and I like to ride in the car. I’m a quiet boy and hardly ever bark.
I can’t wait to find my forever home! If you think we would be a great match for each other, go to the Adoptable Pets page of SummitDogRescue.org and click on my portrait. That will take you to my very own page, and from there you can fill out an application and send it in. A nice volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
XXXOOO,
Rocky, aka Big Guy
