Story
We took my Brothers Black Mouth Cur in when he died. He lived out in the country in Louisiana, so Lucy is not used to the city. She is 5 years old and keeps jumping our 4' chain link fence and getting out. It also looks like she might be allergic to something in our back yard because she has this itching thing sometimes. Lucy is a perfect people dog. Very loving and sweet so she will be great around small children and people. She likes barking at cars and chasing squirrels and rabbits. We are hoping someone in the country or someone with a big back yard with 6 or 8 ft high privacy fence will take her. Please be advised this dog is free to a good home, but we must be able to tell she is going to a good place so be ready to answer a lot of questions before we give her away. Thank you for looking.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Scout and his brother, Koda, were found on the streets roaming alone as two young pups. We brought them into the rescue and they are on their way to living fulfilling lives. These two boys have obviously had a rough start to life as they have abrasions on their backs (we think these may be due to them having been burned). You can see that this does not stop them from being the fun-loving pups that they are. Scout is a super sweet puppy. Given his start in life and the circumstances he was found, he is doing amazingly well. Scout is a bit cautious of new people and surroundings although he is trusting more each day. He does enjoy going for car rides.  Scout loves playing with his toys. He is treat motivated and does well with one on one training sessions and he is very interested and willing to please. Scout is still displaying some of those “flight” responses and will need to continue his training to help with confidence and trust levels. As with all puppies, he is working on learning basic commands. Scout is going to be an amazing pup and will bring such joy to a lucky family one day. We think these guys will grow to a medium/large build. We estimate they were born around July 2018.  Scout is about 55 lbs. If you are looking for a fun and snuggly puppy to be a part of your family, please fill out an application via this link: https://www.thestreetdogproject.org/adopt Scout’s adoption fee is $225 and that covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and he's been tested for heartworm and is on monthly heartworm prevention.  Please email info@thestreetdogproject.org if you have any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mia and her sisters were rescued from a rural country road where they were found dodging cars and semi-trucks. Fourtunately, Good Samaritans jumped into action and saved them! We estimate the girls were born in June 2019. They are super sweet and friendly! Mia and her sisters look to be black mouth cur mixes. Mia has a light brown coat with a little dark-brown line running down her snout. She also has cute white markings on her back paws. Mia is housetrained, has moderate shedding, is friendly with new people, and working on her basic training. Mia is an active young dog that would benefit from daily exercise and keep up with her obedience training. Mia does well with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, and is intelligent and affectionate. She is a great mix of playful and snuggly! From Mia’s fosters: “Looking for a silly pup to put a smile on your face? Meet Mia! This goofy girl has the manners of an adult dog, but the adorable mannerisms of a puppy! Mia loooooves to play. Her favorite thing to do is to chase and play tug-of-war with our resident dog. Which toy is her favorite? Every toy! But when playtime is over, she obediently gets into her crate. She gets very excited about walks—sometimes she even carries her own leash around the house. She does great walking on a leash and doesn’t tug. Mia also seems to be unfazed by a lot of things. On walks she doesn’t react to barking dogs and she was perfectly calm during a bad storm. I guess the streets made her tough! Because playtime is her jam, she would thrive in a home with another pup or with a family who can give her plenty of exercise. Sometimes she playfully nips, but she’s working hard at getting better!” Mia will make a great addition to a lucky family! Her adoption fee covers her vaccinations, de-wormer, spay, microchip and she's on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Please email info@thestreetdogproject.org if you have any questions! Maverick does will with other animals and kids! The kids rode him like a horse when in our care. He is very lovable and has a great personality. He would do best with a family that is home more and able to spend time with him.
