Story
Hello there! My name is Hugo and am looking for my next adventure! My friends here at Heartland say I am a very smart boy who has picked up tricks fast! I am very food motivated, so I'm sure that helps! I am eager to please and love to play. I have met a few other dogs during my time here, and I love them! However I can play kind of rough so I would like to meet any potential siblings before I go home to make sure they like how I play. If I sound like the right fit, come meet me today!

Story
Pepe is 100% a staff favorite. This boy is a typical border collie. He bonds to his person very quickly and will follow you anywhere. He is shy but he gets his confidence from you. He will make someone a great best friend. He would do best in a country setting as leash walks in the city are more difficult than walks off leash in the country. He has shown remarkable "herding instincts" here at SafeHaven so he may make a great working dog also with training. An adult home with some property is what we are dreaming of for this sweet boy.

Story
Dog adopted 2/2017 from animal shelter in Gresham, Oregon by my elderly uncle. Dog surrendered to shelter by original lifetime owner - her new spouse did not like dogs. Uncle was hospitalized, died in June 2019. Did not have anyone willing to take the dog. Dog is a very loving dog. Follows you everywhere - Velcro dog. She is healthy, 9 years old. I have had the dog since 4/9/19. Issues are : Dog friendly but needs very slow introduction to another dog. She currently lives with female German Shepherd and a cat. Has bitten one person. Hand/minor bite/broke skin. Reported to Multnomah Co Animal Control. Introduction to people has to be slow. If you immediately attempt to pet or touch she will snap. Given 2 to 3 minutes she will allow touch/pet. Did not display that behavior when contacted at shelter. Strong guard drive in vehicle. Aggressively barks at passersby/gas attendants. Chases birds/animals. Barks at persons/cars if house/yard approached. Fears fireworks.

What my friends at OHS say about me:-I am just a baby! I will need guidance and patience - plus regular play time with you! Taking a training class will help us bond and help me become a model canine citizen and channel all that energy in a positive direction! The type of home I'm looking for:-It could be with you!
