Story
I got Casper of a Facebook rehiring page for free in December as a Christmas gift for my autistic son who LOVES dogs. Casper is great he’s kennel trained house trained and love being outside and at the dog park. He gets a lot of attention from my 2 year old son and is very patient with him. He loves cuddling. The only reason I am rejoining Casper is because my son is very sensitive to his barking and has major melt downs. I tried working with both of them since they have a great bond other wise but my son is receiving some in home therapy and the dog barking interferes with my sons therapy causing him to melt down every session. I’ve tried place him outside or in the garage but it just isn’t helping. Casper is not an avid barker it’s just when someone passes by the house or comes in or when he’s playing outside and the neighbors dog barks. I really want Casper to do as he pleases and if he wants to bark and play he should be able to do that but I can’t keep putting my son through it.

Story
Myla is very playful and has lots of energy. She will need time to get comfortable around other dogs at first and than she’ll have a blast playing with them. She enjoys fetch and playing in water. She is house and kennel trained. She is an energetic dog who requires a lot of exercise, however she is not the type to jump on people. Myla is very intelligent and with a good owner she can learn a lot. Some dogs will scratch on a door to go out or in the house but she will try to turn the door handle. Since she is still young, 8 months, at night she sleeps in her kennel.

Story
Sammy fits in everywhere (that he fits). Good with cats and great with dogs. He currently is being fostered with five other dogs male and female and gets along (passive) will all of them, even our grumpy older female Sheppard mix and Male Husky. Sammy is a lover not a fighter. He actively disregards or avoids any sign of other dog aggression. He loves people and any attention he can get. Does well in the car or truck, though does need to learn some manners as he wants to be in your lap. If your strong willed he will listen and be ok just touching you. If owner is passive, he will be in your lap…… (Foster Dad Note” Sammy’s daddy was not a glass maker….if you let him,,55lb of dog will dominate your field of vision and grasp of the steering wheel….Note 2: Sammy is a terrible driver) He loves to go for walks and is learning not to pull. Enjoys the dog park. He learns very quickly. He gets really happy when he sees kids (and other dogs, frogs, birds, dandelions, dust floating in the air) . He melts like butter when kids want to pet him though.. Of note, if child has been eating anything recently, Sammy will provide free clean up without request. Sammy is working on his separation issues…He is fine for a few minutes by himself, ok in a crate for an 1/2 hour. Longer than that AND ALONE he gets worried and will get out of his crate. We have just taken him in to our home (second foster) and are working through this. Our dogs have full access to the house and though dog door a small part of the property. It seems so far if he is not contained and with other pups he knows, there is no issue. ….So for now, only dog and being left alone is not a workable situation for him (or your furniture) But I think we can get him better with time. If you’re looking for a furever friend he would be perfect. Contact Sammy's foster, Erik, at we.chip.pets@gmail.com

Story
Heartworms: he is positive and has started treatment. This will need to be maintained by adopter. Contact info: hunt_alma@yahoo.com Tell us about the pet: Duke is such an amazing dog. He was found running around in Cameron Park after his owners dumped him. He's completely potty trained and kennel trained. He loves to talk to you while you're playing. He does like to nip at your hands in a playful way, but we are working on that. I give him heartworm meds once every two weeks. I'm not sure about children he seems gentle enough so I dont think it would be a problem.
