Story
Spots is a 3 year old female Border Collie mix. She is fully vetted, spade, and heart worm negative. She loves walks and can easily walk/run 2-3 miles a day. She’s a little shy when you first meet her but she warms up quickly. Spots would do best in a single dog home. She’s kennel and potty trained, loves playing Frisbee and catch. She can shake, sit, and is easily trainable. Spots is looking for her forever home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I need a foster or adopter to break me from boarding!   Hello, my name is Piper. I'm very shy and timid, and it takes me a while to trust people. When I learn to relax, though, I'm very sweet and quiet. I'm learning to enjoy cuddles and treats, and I love walking in quiet areas. I definitely need some time and patience, but I'm going to be a very good, sweet dog for any family who wants a quiet companion by their side. (Piper is definitely a work in progress, but we're working on it. She is going to require kindness and patience, but I honestly believe she'll be an amazing dog once she learns to fit in with people.) =========================================================   Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area.  Please call for specific locations. Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs.   In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events.  Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Story
Captain is an amazing dog. He has so much love to give and he is insanely intelligent. He knows many tricks and he has been potty trained since he was 9 weeks. I got him when he was 8 weeks from a farm family in Oklahoma (not an illegal breeder, just a normal family). Due to him growing up outside, he really needs to live somewhere that allows him to have lots of space to run and play. He does resource guard new bones, but he is so smart he could be trained quickly by someone who has the experience and time to give. I love him so much and he got so much love being with me, but as a college student I do not have the time to train his bad behaviors like the resource guarding. I want him to go to an amazing home with a big backyard that’s fenced in. Free cage with captain.

Harley is a very smart energetic dog that will be perfect for a family. He is playful and trained. He has a sense of humor believe it or not. We do not want to give me up but we have no choice. I am going through a divorce and living with my daughter and she has no yard or room in her home for Harley. I want him to go to a great family that will love and cherish him. He was given to me by my son as a baby and it was love at first sight. He is a salt a nd pepper color and he has a personality like no other dog I have had. As much as it hurts me to give him up I know that the joy he has brought to my family he will continue to do the same for another deserving family.

Story
This is Cali, she is the sweetest dog in the world. We adopted her from a shelter. She is about 9 months and shes the smartest girl. She has trust issues and is shy, although she’s so lovable towards her owners. Yet scared and shy, no aggression at all. It just takes her time to get comfortable with other dogs and people before she gets excited. She has all her shots and is ready for a wonderful new home, I wish so badly that I could keep her because she is my baby. I need to find her a loving, wonderful home. I wish I can keep her but I just can’t:( I’m moving into a lease house and they will not allow her to come with and she deserves the best sweetest home. Please contact me if you are willing to home this wonderful sweet girl.
