Story
Gorgeous & sweet only begins to describe this blue-eyed beauty! Penny was just a pup herself when she gave birth to a litter of 7 puppies. She came to the rescue already pregnant and had her puppies while in foster care. Her puppies have all been adopted into wonderful homes. Now it's Penny's turn to find a caring & loving family! She is shy and can be skittish if she hears loud and/or sudden noises. Her foster mom has already seen improvement in these aspects of Penny’s behavior. Penny has met many of her foster mom’s friends and neighbors and, while sometimes tentative, quickly acclimates to the new person. Penny asks that her family be patient and nurturing as to guide her into being a more confident, secure dog. The best way for this to happen is for Penny to have a family where someone is home much of the time. She could live in a family with older kids who can understand & behave considerately towards Penny as she adapts to her new family. She loves playing with other dogs and her toys. She also loves that she gets to sleep in a bed at night. She sleeps soundly and isn’t a bed hog! ; ) Since Penny is just out of puppyhood herself, she has the usual, young dog traits—she can be a rascal and may tear things up thinking they are her toys. As she has matured, her foster mom is seeing less of this behavior. This endearing girl likes quiet time where she can relax, cuddle and get affection. Penny has made good progress in her leash walking skills, especially impressive since she had never been in a harness or on a leash before. She’s a smarty for sure and looks forward to more positive training with her family. She hopes her new home will have a big, fenced yard because she loves playing and exploring outdoors. She especially loves it when you join in the fun! Her adoption fee covers her spay, microchip, up-to-date basic vaccines, rabies vaccine, and worm/flea preventative. Story
Hello! My name is Kensington Layne! I’m a 5yrs old Border Collie mix! I love to cuddle. Go on walks and play with other doggo’s. I don’t really like cats though...they are too sneaky. I like older kids, but I’ve never met a baby or a toddler. Going for rides in my foster daddy’s truck is fun too! I have all my vaccinations and I’ve been spayed. I’m just waiting to find my fur-ever home!

Story
Beautiful Emma appears to be a border collie / pit mix, and maybe some heeler, too.  She is almost 6yrs old now, approximately 50 lbs.... and still looks forward to her daily exercise such as jogging, rigorous hiking and long walks.  She’s great on a leash and loves car rides.  Emma is quiet most of the time, barking only at appropriate moments.  She can be a bit insecure when meeting new folks but with just a few treats, she quickly becomes a friendly, cuddly girl.  She is very selective of her playmates and seems to like medium size, easy going males best so a calm but playful male dog or no other dog in the home is best.  And no kitties for this cutie.  She is fully house and crate trained.  She must have an experienced home and since she’s very agile, the fence must be at least 6ft. If you could consider fostering this beautiful active girl please email info@k9rr.org and include your phone number.

Story
Cowy is a loving, friendly dog who is happiest getting her belly rubbed. Her favorite thing to do is to climb into your lap and give huge sloppy kisses!! She gets along wonderfully with her doggie roommates but is a bit apprehensive when meeting larger dogs but warms up after gaining confidence. Cowy has a lot of playful energy and would make a wonderful dog in an active home. NOTE: In many cases, these dogs are located in La Paz, BCS, Mexico in foster homes. We transport them to their adopted homes via air transport with a volunteer.

Story
Shannon is a beautiful Red Heeler mix and is about 7 years old. She is a sweet lovebug but a little shy. She lacks confidence in new situations and when meeting new people (especially men). But let her warm-up at her own pace and she’ll add you to her circle of trust! She’d like to have someone home most of the day. She can be crated when home alone—and she loves her crate! Shannon has good basic skills and walks well on leash—but can pull if she sees or smells something that really grabs her attention. She is house-trained but needs to go out several time a day. Shannon and and her brother, Rocky came into rescue when one of their owners passed away. Shannon would like an adult household with no cats. She is very ready to settle down in a forever home. Her adoption fee covers the cost of her spay, up-to-date basic vaccines, rabies vaccine, and all vet visits to date, as well as her microchip.
