VOLUNTEERS :  ARF needs transport drivers who can do legs between WV and New England! He’s a Border Collie mix, 5 year’s old, netured, 48lbs. He’s a very nice dog! He keeps a clean kennel so he must have been an inside dog at one time. He was already netured and healthy weight when we got him. We’re surprised no one has called missing him. He will sit, give paw for a treat. Walks good on leash, loves people. He loves his kennel. After he runs in the yard and potties he goes straight back to his kennel on his own.  Jackson County Animal Shelter 86 County Farm Rd, Cottageville, WV 25239 Google map to our location: https://goo.gl/j2faZf&#226&#128&#139 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JacksonCountyAnimalShelter Shelter Hours:  Mon/Wed/Fri 9am-4pm ----  Tue/Thu 11am-6pm ----  Sat/Sun Closed Adoption Application: http://form.jotform.us/form/51408614450146 Rescue Application: http://form.jotform.us/form/51744619866165 For rescue or long distance adoption inquiries, please use this form to contact us: http://form.jotform.us/form/51806042497154 Phone (for local calls only): 304-372-6064 Rescues and long-distance adopters: We are rescue friendly and PA-licensed! From the moment we met him, we knew no one had worked with this boy on manners. He loves to jump up and do belly rolls when on a slip lead. Our dog trainer, Jenny Lilly, worked with him at the shelter and already we see a big difference. She said he finally got use to the leash and settled in for a nice walk. Considering he had never been on a leash before, he did well. With daily walks he will get better and better. As you can tell by the pictures, Raspin loves the water. Lol. He has a really thick tail that curls up and his body seems thick. He's shaped somewhat like a Chow although his tongue doesn't have any black on it. Raspin is a very smart dog and energetic, around 10 months old and approximately 35 lbs and growing.   Jackson County Animal Shelter 86 County Farm Rd, Cottageville, WV 25239 Google map to our location: https://goo.gl/j2faZf&#226&#128&#139 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JacksonCountyAnimalShelter Shelter Hours:  Mon/Wed/Fri 9am-4pm ----  Tue/Thu 11am-6pm ----  Sat/Sun Closed Adoption Application: http://form.jotform.us/form/51408614450146 Rescue Application: http://form.jotform.us/form/51744619866165 For rescue or long distance adoption inquiries, please use this form to contact us: http://form.jotform.us/form/51806042497154 Phone (for local calls only): 304-372-6064 Rescues and long-distance adopters: We are rescue friendly and PA-licensed! Story
Effie is 3 years old border collie and St. Bernard mix. She is super loving and great with kids and other dogs. She has had 1 litter of puppies. We love her dearly but we don’t have space for her to run and enjoy her life. We would like for her to find a new home where she’s able to have mode freedom and not be restricted to a small fenced in pin like she is here. She is house trained as long as you let her out but she will use the bathroom if left alone for too long. She isn’t inside a lot though and I’m positive she would learn quickly if she is actually indoors more. She loves to cuddle and give hugs. Someone please give her a new loving home.

Needs experienced adopter,
Story
2- 3 year old Louie came to us with a history of being a "bait dog" for dog fighters. That may or may not be true as Louie does seem to have some neurological issues which could have been caused by injury (head bobbing when drinking, and some peripheral vision issues). We have had Louie thoroughly checked out by our veterinarian, and he has assured us that though Louie does seem to have some strange issues, none of them appear to be affecting his current health in any way nor does he expect them to affect him in the future. Louie gets along with female dogs, but does not get along with all males. He really does much better when he has just a single or double female canine friend(s) at a time. He is very well behaved on leash. He is affectionate with his humans, and listens extremely well - and in fact actually already knows a few basic commands. Louie would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner/trainer and one or two other easy going female canine companions. Louie is a work in process - and his new family should regard him as a piece of art that when finally complete will dazzle all who meet him. If you would like to offer Louie a forever home, please submit an application which you can find on our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org)

Story
3-4 year old Chaucer is so endearing. He is high energy, but very responsive to training and correction. Chaucer needs an electric fence, be leash walked, a tie out, or security fences at least 6' high to be safe. He will climb or jump fences when he become bored or sees something on the other side more interesting. Chaucer is a favorite here. He has been vaccinated against rabies, distemper and parvo, heartworm tested negative, crate trained, wormed, and neutered. Chaucer has gotten along best with spayed females and and other neutered males here. He can, however, be very choosy with his canine companions and may display some leash aggression towards other dogs (which we are working on and is never directed at humans). Chaucer needs an owner who is alpha - and someone who understands his issues with some other dogs - and who is experienced and willing to work with him. If you think you might be the person for this truly unique and wonderful dog, submit an application which you can find on our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We all have bad days. My worst day was when my parents had to give me up.Kira is a really sweet dog that loves to play and run around. She is already spayed,Heartworm tested and current on all her shot. Kira is very shy when she meets someone new. Kira would do best in a home without small children. Kira is also very wary of men. She would do best in an all female household. Please give this sweet dog a loving forever home. If you’re interested in Kira go to www.olivebranchwv.org and fill out an online application. Someone will get back to you ASAP. You can also come and visit her, or just give me a call to get more information 304-652-1010 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
