Story
Hugh Jackman is a handsome, 6 year old Border Collie mix male that weighs 73 pounds and is as loving as can be.  This boy lost his forever mom when she died recently and he found himself being brought to the shelter by her family.  He was so sad and really depressed to be there.  Seems that mostly the young and puppy-like dogs leave first.  Critter Cavalry Rescue saw a wonderful middle-aged soul in Jackman and knew he would be perfect for some empty nesting couple or even a young couple who doesn’t want puppy energy in their home.  Hugh  Jackman is a good boy with just the right amount of medium energy and loads of snuggles and cuddles. If you love a gentle giant then Hugh Jack is the one for you!!!   He is a handsome black and white boy that never meets a stranger and is great with dogs and cats alike.  What’s not to love about HUGH JACKMAN!  Please contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com about Jack if you are interested in giving him a future again…a long term future. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Sorry, we cannot adopt to MA residents.

Story
The story of a true diamond in the rough; found as a stray, extremely unsocialized, but in the past few months Dottie has made the transformation of a lifetime.  This beautiful, 2 year old,  Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix girl is roughly 50 pounds and still has room for improvement but we feel she is ready to brave the steps to find her forever home.  Dottie will need that special someone willing to give her the time needed to earn her trust but when that is accomplished, you’re in for a true gem.  She is fully housetrained and kennel trained.  She will need a fenced yard like most active breed dogs.  She is wonderful with other dogs and would likely excel in a home with another confident dog.  Since being in her foster home, she has grown to love and trust her family and we are sure it would take no time for her forever family to gain that trust as well.  She loves to run and play and will easily be everything you want in your new companion.  Can you be Dottie’s hero and make your home Dottie’s last?  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Sorry, we cannot adopt to MA residents.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Please note: Lacey is located in Arkansas. She is listed in the states that we offer transport to or near. She will remain in Arkansas until she has an adopter approved and ready for her. We use Alpha Dog Transport and you can see more about them at www.alphadogtransport.com. 1/17/2020 Lacey came into rescue along with her litter of puppies. They were taken from a neglectful home, where the owners did not care about her or her puppies. They were living outdoors, surviving off of garbage because the owners would not feed them. Lacey was extremely malnourished but was still feeding her babies and trying to make sure they were ok. It was heart breaking to see her in such poor condition. But after only a week in rescue, she was making great progress, and now 2 weeks later, she is doing wonderful! She has gained weight and we have had her spayed. She tested negative for heartworms. Lacey has the sweetest personality. She is very submissive with other dogs and gets along really well with all the other dogs here, large and small. She is crate trained and is working on house training. She will do better with that once she is in a home where she can have more individual attention. She is very food motivated which make training a breeze. We believe Lacey is about a year old. We are unsure of her breed but Border Collie mix is my best guess. Her gray and white coloring is beautiful. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $300-$350, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $250. This includes spay/neuter if old enough, (If not old enough for spay/neuter, the puppy will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract, which will require the adopter to have him/her spayed/neutered no later than 6 months of age), up to date age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $140 per dog. We use Uber Dog Animal Rescue Transport, and you can see more about them at www.uberdogart.com. For more info regarding adopting, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com. Thank you for considering one of our rescue babies!
