Toe White was found living in a small she'd in the yard of an auto body shop with 2 other dogs. There was no food or water or heat and shed was caked in excrement. She was found with a large growth on her front leg that had not been treated, was split open and bleeding. Despite her rough start, Toe's one goal in life is love: to be loved and give love. She loves all people she meets but can be leery of men at first meeting. She has been around kids from a few months old to teenage. She will freely give kisses and snuggles, especially in return for a scratch behind the ears or under the chin. Toe White loves to go for walks and explore the outdoors. She has an affinity for grass and likes to edge lawns as she walks. After a good walk, her favorite place in the house is the couch. She will roll around on her back and wiggle everytime she gets on the couch. If you have a comfy couch, she will happily be your best friend, curl up beside you for hours while you watch TV and snore. Toe has zero sense of personal space and the cutest underbite you've ever seen. It is obvious in her past life she was never trained but she has quickly mastered sit and is on her way to learning down. She also has a very high prey drive so no cats or small animals and you have to be vigilant for squirrels and rabbits on walks. She is currently learning leave it in an attempt to help curb her prey drive. Toe White is currently living in a house with another male dog of similar size and enjoys his company. She might benefit from a home with another confident dog as she can be uncertain in situations. Meet Casey! Casey is a 6 year old boy who spent a great deal of time living in a shelter because unfortunately, he was heartworm positive. What a wonderful dog he is!! He loves to be around people and is very dog friendly. He likes to take walks and to play ball and he gets extra excited when it’s dinner time. Since coming to our rescue, Casey has undergone treatment for his heartworm and is ready for his very own forever home. If you are interested in adopting Casey, we ask that you submit an application which can be found at digsk9.org. His adoption fee is $275. This dog is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Please note that we are unable to hold dogs for any reason including moves and vacations. Story

Charley is a 2 year old boxer mix. We’ve adopted him from a rescue in Chicago which is a kill shelter. We’ve had charley since he was 4 months old and I must say he is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. At first glance you would think he’s a mean dog but really he’s just protective of his family. It typically takes about 1/2 hour for Charley to warm up to new people. Charley currently lives with 6 children ages 18yr-6yrs old and his human mother & father. Charley loves to cuddle, snuggle and play tug of war with his family and even likes to sit by my children when they play video games on the couch for hours. Lol. Charley is coming from a home that really LOVES him and wish things could have worked out differently but after multiple emergency room visit, countless medication is has been confirmed that my husband is highly allergic to to warm blooded animals . We wasn’t aware of this when we adopted Charley and the symptoms he had we thought was associated with another illness.

Charley is the first dog we have ever owned. We adopted him when he was only 2 months old. He loves to cuddle, a good back rub and lots of kisses. He has been seldom socialized, so he's very shy around other humans and afraid of other dogs. When you first meet Charley, he may come off as mean because he will growl at anyone he is not familiar with but he'll quickly warm up to you after he notices you pose no threat to his family. You will find Charley cuddling or any day with one of my is children or sitting on the couch watching them play video games. Charley is 2 years old, weight 40-50 lbs and up to date on all his shots. Charley has a little issue with his hips which he was born with which cause him to take breaks when he's walking to running but that does not deem his spirit.
