Story
Meet Bradley JuM Need a shoulder to cry on? White dogs tend to get adopted quicker than brindle fellas, but brindle dogs are much better for wiping snot and mascara on. Say you are watching a Bradley Cooper movie, A Star is Born, try blowing your nose and wiping that on a white dog, what a mess. Me, blends right in. Camuttflauge for any type of dirt, secretion, or just a good place to wipe the Cheeto dust off your finger tips. *cronch cronch, oh, you were planning to share the Cheetos, right????* I might won’t pass the white glove test, but I will pass the Good Boy Test. I am happy with everyone. I love all other dogs. I do have the hunky 50 pound athletic frame of a Boxer, but I am not SHALLOW, my personality is poochy keen. I am so vibrant for a 4 year old, Foster Mom keeps asking me, “did you find the fountain of youth”, nope, but if you show me to a tree, I can show you a fountain. *he he he, I crack me up* I was rescued from the local muttnicipal shelter on the dreaded last day, so there was a silver lining in my playbook. I am getting up to speed on both potty and crate training and leash walking. Whether it is to a crash a wedding, support you during a hangover, or just be a general Kleenex during the latest rom com or romedy or dramady or any other movie colab, I am ready to hustle! GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $400 for dogs over a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired. Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. Story
Meet Rusty Bucket JuM The heckin happened with my name??? If you were gonna name me after a bucket, couldn’t it at least have been a bucket of golden fried chicken so I could at least earn the respeck of the other dogs. Plus, Colonel Sanders is kinda my idol. The secret recipe is cholestrols and sodiyums and I love it! I can eat fried food all dilly day and not gain an ounce because I work it off. *the song Work Out by J Cole plays in the background* I am 2 and a half years in age and 55 plus pounds of beefy muffin and study cake. I am not ambidextrous in the ear department, I think my photos prove I am defurnitley left eared. I pop my left ear when I need to catch more sounds, it is fricken adorable to the ladies. At rescue camp, they only let me play with dogs my size. They think my rad ninja moves would be too ruff for a small dog. I would love a home that would allow me some play time with fellow rad athletic dogs. It’s a good way to work off those chicky nuggers that you will be going through drive thrus to order for me. I ADORE people and having fun. Again, due to my voracious need for pounce and speed, the Rescue Lady says, Rusty Rocket might need to be in a home with taller kids, as he would likely knock little ones on the floor. That sounds good, I would love some sturdy kids to wrastle with or toss a stick or ball for me. My mix is a mystery of the highest hmmmmmmm??? I heard words like Shepherd mix, Pitbull mix, Lab mix, Boxer mix, all thrown in a hat. They settled on Lab and Boxer due to my dual color combo and lanky physique. But who knows it is a wag (a wild a** guess). I will be a terrific man for anyone who wants a dog to take on adventures and then settle in for a movie night or foot ball game. I will be great at holiday parties and any and all occasions that welcome fun boys. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Introducing Squirrley I have to admit, it isn’t easy being named after most dog’s arf nemesis. It’s like naming a cat Mousey. Or naming a sheep, Wolfy. Or nick naming a Vampire, Sunshine. The only thing worse might have been to name me *gasp* Mailman, Amazon Delivery Dude or UPS Lady. All sworn enemies of the canines by oath of law. Truffly though, I really don’t mind the name. I am just happy to not be living on my own and actually have an identity. I was rescued by a Street Dog Rescuer after being dumped on the side of the road wrapped in a shower curtain and old bedspread. I was skin and bones. That was a sad day for me to be treated like garbage. There is a light at the tunnel. My saddest day opened the door to what will be my best day. The DAY YOU ADOPT ME!! I am a female 5 year old Boxer mix weighing in about 30 pounds. The best way to remember that I am a female is to remember that squirrelly rhymes with girly. It also rhymes with Shirley, but surely you knew that. You are a smart human right? I am an intelligent girl too. I am being a good girl around all the other dogs at the rescue camp. I don’t beg or seek attention, but when the Rescue Lady talks to me, I stop to listen. She stops to watch my ears wiggle to catch her voice. I have the best ears on campus. I love that the humans talk to me. It is just so refreshing to have someone pay attention to little ole me. I come when called because not only does this Rescue Lady pay me with attention, she has been known to also pay me in a dog desired currency, weenies. So do you want to be the lucky person that provides me with my BEST DAY EVER???? If so, please fill out an application. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Rey is a wonderful girl who originally came to Furry Friends as a stray. She is the biggest cuddle bug and loves people and other dogs! She has done well with children and passed her cat test at the shelter. Rey does get a little too excited at times and likes to jump up on you, so she will need a little work on that before going to a home with small children. She is an extremely lovable girl who squeals with delight when she sees a new friend. Rey is currently in a foster home, if you are interested in meeting her, please call the shelter at 515-222-0009.

Story
Charlie is a 3 year old boxer/American bulldog mix. We’ve had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is the most lovable dog. She does bark at men but warms up quickly. She needs to be in a single pet home even though she has lived with another dog her whole life. We have found she does not like other dogs when visiting new homes. She has skin allergies and requires vet care for these issues. She does not jump and knows sit and shake. We are needing to rehome because of landlord restrictions. This is very hard for us. We want to keep her but just can’t.

These pups are in Clive, Iowa too!

Story
Meet Daisy aka Dancer I’m in a Foster Mom’s house, but honestly, it feels more like a couples retreat or anniversary cruise because I’m doing all sorts of activities with my new Boxer beau Harley. He’s become my automuttic bestie. We could prolly go on the Newlywed Game and put all the other couples to shame. We sunbathe, veg out on the couch and we are prolly going to play canasta next, once we find out what canasta means. I’m not getting as attached to my new boo Harley as it would appear though, honestly, I’m a bit of a trollop and will hang out with any dog. Don’t worry, I’m spayed so it’s a completely puptonic relationship. I mean I haven’t worked out any ship names yet, like Darley or Haisy, look, we’re no Brangelina or Bennifer, but honestly, those couples weren’t good role models. It’s not just dogs that become the object of my affections, I will show my belly to any human for rubs. I get along all humans even kids of humans, babies of humans, and litterally ANY human so making new friends anywhere I end up will be easy for me. I will show my belly to everyone and anyone even if they don’t like bellies. I even passed my cat test. Cats, dogs, humans and probably even hippopotamuses would be my friend. You are prolly wondering how I got this pretty white coat with sneaky spots and grey accents. I’m a 1 and 1/2 of a year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix and that’s likely where my coordinated coat eye combo came from. I’m house and crate trained overnight and short spurts while Foster Mom is out and about. When I’m not paling around with my Boxer bud, I spend my time staying in shape by chewing on..... my chew toys, of course, sure only on my human approved chew toys. Chew toys are a must otherwise one of your shoes may have to act as an alternative during my chew sesh and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say no buddy wants that. Now I need to go play charades or twister with my hunny bun Harley, but you go ahead and complete the application for me. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Story
Meet Patsy JR Name: Patsy. Favorite Self Help Book: The Art of Emuttional Muttnipulation: How to get your new owner to do your bidding by using the power of your cuteness. Age/Weight/Breed: I am a female, 2 year old, 45 pound playful Pitbull mix. Likes: I adore playing with the older kids that live at my Foster House and playing with fuzzy tennis balls and the rest of my toys. I also like treats! Something to Brag About: I walk really good on a leash. Not every dog can claim that! Plus I am house and crate trained. Dislikes: I do get intimuttdated by bigger dogs. So Foster Mom says I would need to do a meet and greet with any dog that I might have to live with. I lived here with a medium girl dog, but she got adopted and now I don’t have friends to play with. Final Ask: My main adoration is for humans. So if you are a human that would like a lone wolf but less hairy choose me. Maybe you want to be a one dog home and not collect dogs like potato chips, I would be a great choice! But if you do have a dog and don’t mind having the patience to let me give them a good sniffaround first, that would work too! GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Story
Meet Adam TatG (made an amazing comeback from scrawny to svelte, but doesn’t make a great first impression due to awkward initial shyness, he’s like the Kristen Stewart of dogs) Voted Most Likely Too: I clearly win Most Photogenic doggie at all the adoption events, but I sure wish the prize was a family and not just constant applause. Likes: Dog parks, car rides, going on sniffathons, relaxing in bed, cuddles, being your shadow, other dogs, people, supervising your bathroom visits…stealing your food from the table when you turn around (pretend you did not read that last part). A goooood back scritchin and full body massage, but who doesn’t? Age/Weight/Breed: I am a SILLY Billy, but my name is Adam and I am a Dogo Argentino/Pitbull mix. I only weighed 40 pounds when I was picked up from the City of San Antonio shelter, but now I am back up to a hunky chunky 85 pounds. I am somewhere between 4-5 years old. Best Skill: Doing zoomie spinny circles, it is a complicated move, but I am very goodest at it, the best really. Life Tip: When you can’t find a pillow, use another dog’s butt, dog butts are very soft and make great pillows. Favorite Cliché: You know that ole cliché, you cannot judge a book by its cover. I totally agree. To truly judge a book, you need to nibble it, chew on a few pages. When I first got outta the shelter, I was very hungry and chewing on everything, but I have stopped that nonsense, as long as you give me TOYS! Activity Level: I would thrive in a home with a yard for play time, but also a huge couch for my cat naps…er uh, dog naps in my case. I am strong on a leash, but Foster Mom says I am NOT “the worst” she has experienced. Socialability: I am in a Foster Home with other dogs, but did do slow intros. I do great at public places like dog parks, but I become more protective when at home. I am shy at first with people, but if you exchange treats for my love, I will take that trade and then you get to see my goofy ball side. I have been a good boy around kids. So far the only command I know is SIT. I hope you know the command for rubs, because when I roll over to show my belly that means rub it. Big Ask: I am very happy to have my second chance at a home after being dumped and 40 pounds at the city shelter. I want to be a good big boy for you and I will be very loyal and loving. Will you adopt me? GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area.
